Abstract

THE DEVELOPMENT OF SELF-INSTRUCTIONAL LEARNING MODEL FOR INCREASING UNIVERSITY LEADERS CAPABILITY IN GOVERNING AND MANAGING HIGHER-LEARNING INSTITUTIONS Richardus Eko Indrajit Education Technology This R&D methd-based research aims to develop an self-instructional materials and model to improve governance and modern management competencies for candidates and university leaders in Indonesia. The methodology used is the Steps of Systems Approach of Educational Research and Development from Borg and Gall (2007) which gives full legitimacy to the Dick & Carey (1990) model as a development research model. Thus, this R&D research can be carried out by integrating the first step in Borg and Gall (1989) with all steps in the Dick and Carey Model. The result of this research is a product with three forms. The first is the physical form, or books (printed materials). The structure and content of this book are designed so that students can follow the learning process independently. Apart from the discussion topics, there were also various sessions related to assignments, discussion exercises, and evaluation. This book is also connected to the internet by displaying a number of links to sites in cyberspace. The second is in the form of an e-learning module which is intended for those who want to learn fully online. This electronic module was developed to be used in a Learning Management System environment with the Moodle open source application platform. In order to be used on a variety of different platforms, these electronic learning materials are stored in the standard SCORM (Shareable Content Object Reference Model) format. The third is a form of CBT or Computer-Based Training for participants who have computers but are connected to the internet with slow performance or not connected to the internet at all. Given that students in Indonesia have different technological devices, this product was developed in two versions of storage media, namely: CD-ROM and flash disk. The results of the formative evaluation involving various experts, prospective students, and field tests provide a VERY GOOD evaluation of the products produced. There was a change in competence of 41% for students who followed the designed independent learning process. Penelitian berbasis metoda R&D ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran mandiri untuk meningkatkan kompetensi tata kelola dan manajemen modern bagi kandidat dan pimpinan perguruan tinggi di Indonesia.Metodologi yang dipergunakan adalah Steps of Systems Approach of Educational Research and Developmentdari Borg and Gall (2007) yang memberikan legitimasi penuh pada Model Dick & Carey (1990) sebagai sebuah model penelitian pengembangan. Dengan demikian maka penelitian R&D ini dapat dilakukan dengan mengintegrasikan langkah pertama pada Borg and Gall (1989) dengan keseluruhan langkah pada Model Dick and Carey. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah produk dengan tiga bentuk. Pertama adalah bentuk fisik, atau buku (printed materials). Struktur dan konten buku ini dirancang agar peserta didik dapat mengikuti proses pembelajaran secara mandiri. Selain topik bahasan, terdapat pula berbagai sesi yang berhubungan dengan tugas, latihan diskusi, dan evaluasi. Buku ini juga dihubungkan dengan internet dengan cara menampilkan sejumlah tautan ke situs-situs di dunia maya. Kedua adalah dalam bentuk modul e-learningyang ditujukan untuk mereka yang ingin belajar secara fully online. Modul elektronik ini dikembangkan untuk dapat dipergunakan di lingkungan Learning Management Systemdengan platform aplikasi open sourceMoodle. Agar dapat dipakai dalam beragam platform berbeda, bahan pembelajaran elektronik ini disimpan dalam format standar SCORM (Shareable Content Object Reference Model). Ketiga adalah bentuk CBT atau Computer-Based Trainingbagi peserta yang memiliki komputer namun terhubung dengan internet berkinerja lambat atau tidak terhubung sama sekali ke jaringan internet. Mengingat bahwa peserta didik di Indonesia memiliki perangkat teknologi yang berbeda-beda, makaproduk ini dikembangkan dalam dua versi media penyimpan, yaitu: CD-ROM dan flash disk.Hasil evaluasi formatif yang melibatkan berbagai pakar, calon peserta didik, dan uji lapangan memberikanevaluasirata-rataSANGAT BAIK terhadap produk yang dihasilkan.Terjadi perubahan kompetensi sebesar 41% terhadap peserta didik yang mengikuti proses pembelajaran mandiri yang dirancang.
