Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran preferensi musik mahasiswa Psikologi Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Preferensi musik adalah kecenderungan individu untuk suka kepada salah satu jenis musik yang disukai dan sering didengarkannya yang dibagi kedalam jenis light music dan heavy music.(Schwartz & Foust, 2003). Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah skala preferensi musik yang di adaptasi dari (Hamzah, 2010) berdasarkan teori dari (Schwartz & Foust, 2003). Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 153 responden yang terdiri dari laki – laki dan perempuan. Hasil penelitian kuantitatif menunjukan responden pada usia 21 tahun memiliki persentase paling banyak yaitu sebanyak 47 orang, sedangkan persentase paling sedikit yaitu pada umur 25 tahun yang berjumlah 1 orang. Responden berdasarkan jenis kelamin, wanita lebih tinggi yaitu 66 orang sedangkan pria 42 orang. Hasil penelitian kualitatif menunjukan bahwa 5 reponden memiliki preferensi light music. This study aims to find out the picture of music preferences of Psychology students of Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Musical preference is an individual's tendency to like one type of music that he likes and often listens to that is divided into light music and heavy music types. (Schwartz & Foust, 2003). The measuring instrument used is the scale of musical preferences adapted from (Hamzah, 2010) based on the theory of (Schwartz & Foust, 2003). The sample in this study amounted to 153 respondents consisting of men and women. The results of quantitative research showed that respondents at the age of 21 years had the most percentage of 47 people, while the least percentage was at the age of 25 years which amounted to 1 person. Respondents by gender, women were 66 men and 42 men. Qualitative research shows that 5 reponden have light music preferences.
