Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan menemukan model empiris dan model konseptual untuk pengaruh kepemimpinan transformasional, budaya akademik, self – engagement terhadap komitmen profesi dosen universitas swasta di Jakarta. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi nilai tambah pada ranah keilmuan di bidang manajemen khususnya komitmen profesi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Unit analisis yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini adalah dosen universitas swasta terakreditasi B di Jakarta dengan populasi sejumlah 700 dosen dan sampel yang dianalisis sejumlah 212. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) dengan IBM AMOS 23. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari delapan (8) hipotesis yang diajukan ada tiga (3) ditolak dan lima (5) diterima. Dari hasil analisis tersebut ditemukan model empiris peningkatan komitmen profesi dosen dengan penekanan pada self – engagement terhadap komitmen profesi dosen diikuti oleh kepemimpinan terhadap komitmen profesi dosen, kepemimpinan terhadap budaya akademik, budaya akademik terhadap self – engagement dan budaya akademik terhadap komitmen profesi dosen melalui self – engagement.; ********** This study aims to analyze and generate the empirical and conceptual model for the influence of transformational leadership, academic culture, self – engagement on professional commitment of private university lecturer in Jakarta. This study contributes added values to the management field especially on professional commitment. A quantitative approach were used in the study with a survey method. The unit of analysis used in this study is B – accreditation private university in Jakarta with a population of 700 lecturers and a total of 212 were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) on IBM AMOS 23. The findings shown that there were three (3) hypotheses were rejected and five (5) hypotheses were accepted out of the proposed eight (8) hypotheses. The analysis discovered an empirical model of professional commitment enhancement, it emphasized on self – engagement on professional commitment, followed by transformational leadership on professional commitment, transformational leadership on academic culture, academic culture on self engagement and academic culture on professional commitment mediated by self – engagement.
