Abstract

Kata Kunci : Keberfungsian Keluarga, Adiksi Smartphone, Mahasiswa *********** The purpose of this study is to investigate family functioning and the tendency of smartphone addiction in students during the Covid19 pandemic. In this analysis, the respondents were involved students in Jabodetabek who were not married and had personal smartphones. The findings of statistical tests indicate that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, indicating that the relationship between family functioning and the tendency of smartphone addiction persists. The direction of the relationship shown is a negative sign with r = -0.287 **, which means that the more effective the functioning of the family, the lower risk level of smartphone addiction among students during the Covid19 pandemic. The method used in this research is a quantitative method with incidental sampling data collection techniques. The instruments used in measuring the research variables on family functioning include the general function subscale 12 Family Assessment Device (FAD) and the Smartphone Addiction Scale — Short Version (SAS-SV). Both instruments use a Likert scale with four points, namely "Strongly Agree", "Agree", "Disagree", and "Strongly Disagree". Both of these instruments have a reliable reliability value with a number of 0.83 on the family function instrument and 0.807 on the smartphone addiction instrument.
