Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara social comparison dan self-compassion pada karyawan yang mengalami PHK pada masa pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 504 karyawan yang berusia 18-57 tahun yang mengalami PHK pada masa pandemi COVID-19. Variabel social comparison diukur menggunakan instrumen Iowa-Netherlands Comparison Orientation Measure (INCOM) yang dikonstruksikan oleh Gibbons & Bunks tahun 1999. Variabel self-compassion diukur dengan menggunakan instrumen Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) yang dikonstruksikan oleh Neff tahun 2003. Dari hasil uji statistik diperoleh nilai p-value 0.000 ˂ α 0.05 yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif antara social comparison dan self-compassion. ************ This study aims to examine the relationship between social comparison and self-compassion on employees who experienced layoffs during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research uses quantitative methods. Sampling technique in this research using purposive sampling. Participants in this research were 504 employees aged 18-57 years who experienced layoffs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Social comparison variable was measured using the Iowa-Netherlands Comparison Orientation Measure (INCOM) instrument constructed by Gibbons & Bunks in 1999. The self-compassion variable was measured using the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) instrument constructed by Neff in 2003. Based on the statistic results showed that p-value 0.000 ˂ α 0.05 which indicates that there is a significant relationship between social comparison and self-compassion.
