Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran fase emerging adulthood pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survei dengan responden sebanyak 275 mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Inventory of the Dimensions of Emerging Adulthood (IDEA) yang telah diadaptasi ke bahasa Indonesia. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sebesar 86% mahasiswa tingkat akhir Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Negeri Jakarta mengalami sebagian fase emerging adulthood. Hal ini ditandai dengan perasaan cemas dan takut, namun di sisi lain merasa optimis dan yakin akan masa depan yang cerah. Kemudian, sebesar 12% berada di fase emerging adulthood. Hal ini ditandai dengan kecemasan terhadap masa depan dan merasa tidak siap atas terjadinya perubahan besar dalam hidup. Lalu, sebesar 2% mahasiswa tingkat akhir tidak mengalami fase emerging adulthood. Hal ini ditandai dengan kemampuan dalam mengatasi berbagai kecemasan terhadap masa depan dan merasa siap atas terjadinya perubahan besar dalam hidup mereka. Dimensi perasaan “di antara” merupakan dimensi yang paling dirasakan pada fase emerging adulthood yang dialami oleh mahasiswa tingkat akhir Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Hal ini menandakan bahwa mereka berada di tahap dimana tidak ingin dianggap sebagai remaja, namun merasa belum siap untuk dikategorikan ke dalam kelompok usia dewasa. ************* This study aims to describe the overview of emerging adulthood phase in the final-year students of Faculty of Education of State University of Jakarta. The research method used is survey with 275 final-year students as respondents. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The instrument used is Inventory of the Dimensions of Emerging Adulthood (IDEA) which has been adapted to Bahasa. This research results indicate that 86% of the final-year students of Faculty of Education of State University of Jakarta experienced some phases of emerging adulthood. This is characterized by the feeling of anxiety and fear, however on the other hand, feeling optimistic and confident of a bright future. Then, 12% were in the emerging adulthood phase. It is characterized by the anxiety about the future and feeling unprepared for the major life changes. Then, 2% of the final-year students did not experience emerging adulthood phase. It is characterized by the ability to overcome various anxieties about the future and feel ready for their major life changes. The dimension of feeling “in between” is the dimension mostly felt in emerging adulthood phase experienced by the final-year students of the Faculty of Education of State University of Jakarta. It indicates that they are at the stage where they do not want to be considered as adolescents, but feel not ready to be categorized into the adult age group.
