Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui faktor penyebab kesenian debus masih dapat bertahan dalam era modern. (2) dan mengetahui upaya pelestarian kesenian debus di Padepokan Bandrong Cempaka Putih dalam menghadapi tantangan modernisasi. Penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, wawancara, catatan lapangan dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) faktor penyebab kesenian debus bertahan dalam era modern dikarenakan (a) faktor internal yaitu motivasi dalam diri anggota Padepokan Bandrong Cempaka Putih, (b) serta faktor eksternal yaitu keluarga, teman sebaya, dan lingkungan sekitar. (2) Upaya pelestarian kesenian debus di Padepokan Bandrong Cempaka Putih dalam menghadapi tantangan modernisasi melalui (a) perlindungan dengan cara sosialisasi kepada masyarakat dan inventarisasi oleh Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Kota Cilegon. (b) Pengembangan dilakukan dengan cara kreativitas alat atraksi, alat musik, serta ditampilkannya Pencak Silat Bandrong. (c) Pemanfaatan dilakukan dengan cara memanfaatkan debus sebagai media hiburan, mata pencaharian, ilmu agama, dan ilmu bela diri.This study aims to: (1) determine the causative factors that make Debus art can still survive in the modern era. (2) and understand the efforts to preserve the Debus art in Padepokan Bandrong Cempaka Putih in facing the modernization challenges. In this study, the writer used qualitative methods with data collection techniques, consisting of observation, interviews, field notes, and documentation. The results of this study showed (1) the factors that cause debus art to still survive in the modern era were due to (a) internal factor consisted of motivation within the Padepokan Bandrong Cempaka Putih members. (b) External factors consisted of family, associates, and the surrounding environment. (2) The efforts to preserve the debus art in Padepokan Bandrong Cempaka Putih in facing the challenges of modernization, consisted (a) Protection are carried out by doing socialization to the public, and inventory carried out by the Cilegon City Tourism and Culture Office. (b) Development are carried out through creativity attraction, musical, and the Bandrong Pencak Silat performance. (c) Utilization are carried out by utilizing debus as a medium of entertainment, livelihood, religious knowledge, and martial arts.
