Abstract

Penciptaan karya ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bentuk-bentuk alternatif makrame wall hanging menggunakan serat agel. Makrame agel dapat dieksplorasi menjadi karya kontemporer yang menarik dan ramah lingkungan. Terinspirasi dari gaya bohemian dengan ciri khas warna dan tekstur yang kaya menginspirasi perupa untuk berkarya dengan lebih bebas. Perupa mengimplementasikan objek dari tanaman hias bunga azalea, daun lompong (caladium/keladi), serta pohon cemara udang ke dalam bentuk makrame wall hanging. Teknik simpul makrame yang digunakan pada objek bunga menggunakan simpul kordon dan simpul pipih ganda, pada ranting/batangnya menggunakan simpul lilit. Daun dibuat menggunakan simpul kepala continuous lark’s head, simpul kordon, dan simpul lingkar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan melakukan uji coba eksplorasi terhadap serat alam, dan eksplorasi simpul makrame. Jenis riset penelitian dan penciptaan menggunakan research-led practice, yaitu pelaksanaan penelitian terlebih dahulu untuk mendapatkan hasil dari eksplorasi konsep yang diimplementasikan ke dalam sebuah karya sehingga penelitian menjadi dasar dalam praktik. Karya menitikberatkan pada pengembangan eksplorasi bentuk, dan teknik sehingga komposisi wall hanging terlihat harmonis dan dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menghias interior pada ruangan. Karya akhir terdiri dari tiga karya dengan karya pertama yang simetris kaya kedua dan ketiga memiliki komposisi asimetris. Kata Kunci: Makrame, Serat Alam, Serat Agel, Wall hanging. Tanaman Hias. ************ The purpose of this creation was to develop an alternative form of macrame wall hanging using agel fiber. Agel macrame can be explored into contemporary works that are attractive and environmentally friendly. Inspired by the bohemian style with characteristic rich colors and textures, it inspires artists to work more freely. Artists implement objects from ornamental plants such as azalea flowers, lompong leaves (keladi/talas), and shrimp pine trees in the form of macrame wall hangings. Tie knot and a double flat knot are used in the flower object, while bent knots used on the branch or tem object . The leaves are made using the lark's head knot, rope knot, and loop knot. This study utilises natural fiber exploration and knots exploration, under research-led practice method, conducting preliminary research to obtain results from concept exploration that is implemented into objects. The work focuses on developing exploration of forms and techniques so that the composition of the wall hanging looks harmonious and can be used to decorate the interior of the room. The final work consists of three works with the first work being richly symmetrical, the second and third work having an asymmetrical composition.
