Abstract

*ABSTRAK* Kondisi pandemi COVID-19 memberikan tanggung jawab kepada perias dan sanggar-sanggar pengantin untuk menerapkan protokol kesehatan dalam konsep New Normal Wedding. Berhubung pengantin pada masa pandemi ini harus menggunakan masker, maka pemilihan kosmetik, teknik dan perilaku penerapan bahan kosmetik juga perlu disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dan kondisi pandemi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan dalam teknik merias pengantin dan perilaku perias pada sanggar-sanggar pengantin dari masa sebelum pandemi dan masa pandemi COVID-19, sehingga dapat dibuat perbandingan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus terhadap fenomena pandemi COVID-19. Prosedur pengumpulan data menggunakan metode wawancara. Analisis data berkonsentrasi pada perubahan teknik dan perilaku dalam penerapan bahan kosmetik dan alat merias di masa pandemi dan masa sebelum pandemi. Hasil penelitian mengemukakan bahwa terdapat beberapa perubahan dalam teknik merias wajah pengantin dengan adanya penyesuaian pada masa pandemi dibandingkan sebelum pandemi, yaitu: penggunaan foundation tidak terlalu tebal karena durasi acara pernikahan lebih singkat, fokus penajaman pada riasan area mata dan alis karena akan terlihat paling menonjol, untuk riasan hidung diperkuat karena sering tergesek masker serta jenis riasan bibir dipilih matte dan tidak glossy untuk menghindari kerusakan atau menempel pada masker. Sedangkan perubahan perilaku perias dalam merias pengatin pada masa pendemi adalah dalam hal memperketat protokol kesehatan serta meningkatkan kesterilan produk dan alat-alat merias. Poin-poin perubahan tersebut sebagai bentuk proteksi diri dan juga klien dari penularan virus COVID-19. Di sisi lain, perias pengantin juga dapat tetap melakukan pekerjaan mereka di masa pandemi ini dengan rasa aman. Kata Kunci: pandemi COVID-19, perilaku merias, teknik rias pengantin *ABSTRACT* The COVID-19 pandemic condition gives responsibilities to make-up artists and bridal studios to implement health protocols in New Normal Wedding concept. Since brides during this pandemic must wear masks, the selection of cosmetics, techniques and behavior for applying cosmetic ingredients also needs to be adjusted to the needs and conditions of the pandemic. This study aims to determine changes in bridal make-up techniques and make-up behavior in bridal studios from pre-pandemic period and the COVID-19 pandemic, so that comparisons can be made. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach to the COVID-19 pandemic phenomenon. The data collection procedure used the interview method. Data analysis concentrates on technical and behavioral changes in the application of cosmetic ingredients and make-up tools during the pandemic and pre-pandemic periods. The results showed that there were several changes in bridal makeup techniques with adjusments during the pandemic compared to before the pandemic, namely: the use of foundation is not too thick because the duration of the wedding is shorter, the focus on sharpening the eye and eyebrow make-up area because it will look the most prominent, for nose make-up, it is strengthened because the mask is often rubbed and type of lip make-up is chosen to be matte and not glossy to avoid damage or sticking to the mask. Meanwhile, changes in make-up behavior in bridal make-up during the pandemic are in terms of tightening health protocols and increasing the sterility of products and make-up tools. The points of change are a form of self-protection and also clients from transmission of the COVID-19 virus. On the other hand, bridal make-up can also continue to do their jobs during this pandemic with a sense of security. Keywords : bridal makeup technique, COVID-19 pandemic, makeup behavior
