Abstract

Penelitian yang berjudul Analisis Semiotik pada Mural Tim Otlen Yogyakarta dilakukan untuk menganalisis makna dan pesan dengan pengembangan semiotika pada mural Tim Otlen Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk; (1) Bagaimana mendeskripsikan tanda semiotik dari karya mural Tim Otlen Yogyakarta; (2) Menganalisis makna dan pesan pada karya mural Tim Otlen Yogyakarta; (3) Hasil karya yang dituju pada penelitian ini berupa kajian semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Narasumber penelitian dalam skripsi ini yakni Tim Otlen Yogyakarta. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah karya mural Tim Otlen Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kota Yogyakarta yang berlokasi di Jalan Gejayan, Yogyakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah Teknik observasi, wawancara, studi dokumen, dan analisis karya Tim Otlen Yogyakarta. Sedangkan teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif. Mural Tim Otlen Yogyakarta ini dikaji sesuai dengan Teori Semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce dengan pengembangannya pada ikon, indeks, dan simbol. Hasil temuan menunjukkan terdapat 4 ikon, berupa mural Lelaki Paruh baya busana bermotif lurik, Mural Bangunan Candi Borobudur, Mural Jaranan, dan Mural Bangunan Monumen Tugu. Terdapat 2 indeks yakni pada Mural Figur Lelaki Paruh Baya Bermotif Lurik dan Mural Candi Borobudur dengan Bendera Merah Putih. Simbol yang ada pada Mural Tim Otlen Yogyakarta ini terdapat 3 simbol yakni pada Mural Jaranan, Mural Candi Borobudur dengan Bendera Merah Putih dan Mural Bangunan Monumen Tugu. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa teori Semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce melalui mural Tim Otlen Yogyakarta memiliki ikon, indeks dan simbol. Hasil pada karya mural Tim Otlen Yogyakarta di Jalan Gejayan ini mewujudkan nilai – nilai kebudayaan sebagai konsep penciptaan karya mural. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mural perlu terus dikembangkan agar nilai budaya, sosial, sejarah dapat dipahami oleh masyarakat Yogyakarta maupun pendatang. ************ The research entitled Semiotic Analysis on the Yogyakarta Otlen Team Mural was conducted to analyze the meaning and message with the development of semiotics on the Yogyakarta Otlen Team mural. Research purpose; (1) How to describe semiotic signs from the mural work of Tim Otlen Yogyakarta; (2) Analyzing the meanings and messages of the mural works of the Yogyakarta Otlen Team; (3) The results of the work aimed at this research in the form of a semiotic study of Charles Sanders Peirce uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research resource in this thesis is the Yogyakarta Otlen Team. The object of this research is the mural work of Tim Otlen Yogyakarta. This research was conducted in the city of Yogyakarta, which is located at Jalan Gejayan, Yogyakarta. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, document studies, and analysis of the work of the Yogyakarta Otlen Team. While the data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. This mural of the Yogyakarta Otlen Team was studied in accordance with Charles Sanders Peirce's Semiotic Theory with its development on icons, indexes, and symbols. The findings show that there are 4 icons, in the form of a mural of a middle-aged man with a striated pattern, a mural of a Borobudur temple building, a mural of a Jaranan, and a mural of a monument building. There are 2 indexes, namely the mural of a middle-aged man with a striated pattern and the mural of Borobudur Temple with the red and white flag. There are 3 symbols on the Yogyakarta Otlen Team Mural, namely the Jaranan Mural, the Borobudur Temple Mural with the Red and White Flag and the Tugu Monument Mural. The results of this study indicate that Charles Sanders Peirce's theory of Semiotics through the mural of Tim Otlen Yogyakarta has icons, indexes and symbols. The results of the mural work of the Yogyakarta Otlen Team on Jalan Gejayan embody cultural values as the concept of creating mural works. The results of this study indicate that murals need to be continuously developed so that cultural, social, historical values can be understood by the people of Yogyakarta and immigrants.
