Abstract
This study aims to see relationship between Emotion Regulation and Anxiety in Final Semester Students Working on Thesis during the COVID-19 Pandemic. This study using quantitative research method with 163 respondents final semester students working on thesis during COVID-19 pandemic. The measuring instrument used in this study is the emotional regulation measuring instrument Gross and John (2003), namely the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) and the anxiety measurement tool for students working on a thesis adapted from Tarigan's research (2017). Hypothesis testing was carried out using the Spearman-Rank Correlation method. The results of hypothesis 1 testing are accepted because the value of sig 0.006 < 0.05 means that there is a significant relationship between Cognitive Reappraisal and Anxiety so that Ha1 is accepted and Ho1 is rejected. The correlation coefficient value is -0.213 which means the direction of the relationship is negative. Hypothesis 2 is rejected because the significance value is 0.114 > 0.05, which means that there is no significant relationship between Expressive Suppression and Anxiety, Ho2 is accepted and Ha2 is rejected. It was concluded that there is a negative relationship between Cognitive Reappraisal and Anxiety in Final Semester Students Working on Thesis during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
