Abstract

PT Inhutani I sebagai Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) yang bergerak di bidang kehutanan memiliki tugas dan wewenang dalam hal pengelolaan sumber daya hutan dan pemanfaatan hasil hutan Negara. Fenomena rendahnya kualitas sumber daya manusia yang handal menjadi kunci keberhasilan perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis career development memediasi pengaruh skill management dan work engagement terhadap employee performance. Teknik pengambilan sampel digunakan adalah sampel sensus terhadap karyawan PT. Inhutani I (Persero) yang memiliki jenjang karir atau kesempatan kenaikan jabatan berjumlah 252 responden. Prosedur yang digunakan dalam pengembangan dan pengujian model serta pengolahan data adalah Structural Equation Model (SEM). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa skill management dan work engagement berpengaruh langsung positif dan signifikan terhadap career development; skill management dan work engagement serta career development berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap employee performance. Temuan penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa secara tidak langsung career development mampu memediasi secara penuh pengaruh skill management dan work engagement terhadap employee performance pada PT Inhutani I (Persero). Peneliti selanjutnya berharap dapat menggunakan career development sebagai intervening dengan variabel lainnya untuk mencapai performa karyawan yang tinggi. Kata Kunci: manajemen keterampilan, keterlibatan kerja, pengembangan karir, kinerja karyawan. PT Inhutani I as a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) engaged in the forestry sector has duties and authorities in terms of managing forest resources and utilization of State forest products. The phenomenon of the low quality of reliable human resources is the key to the company's success. This study aims to identify and analyze career development mediating the effect of skill management and work engagement on employee performance. The sampling technique used is a census sample of employees of PT. Inhutani I (Persero) which has a career path or opportunity for promotion is 252 respondents. The procedure used in developing and testing the model as well as data processing is the Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results of this study indicate that skill management and work engagement have a positive and significant direct effect on career development; management skills and work engagement as well as career development have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The findings of this study prove that indirectly career development is able to fully mediate the influence of skill management and work engagement on employee performance at PT Inhutani I (Persero). Future researchers hope to use career development as another intervening variable to achieve high employee performance.
