Abstract

*ABSTRAK* Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh problematic internet use terhadap pelaku cyberbullying pada mahasiswa universitas “X”. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Alat ukur yang digunakan pada penelitian ini untuk variabel problematic internet use adalah Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale 2 (GPIUS2) dari Caplan (2010) dan alat ukur untuk variabel pelaku cyberbullying adalah The Second Revised Cyber Bullying Inventory (RCBI-II) dari Topcu dan Erdur-Baker (2018). Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada 116 responden dengan usia 18-22 tahun dan memperlihatkan tingkat problematic internet use pada mahasiswa universitas “X” termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (p) sebesar 0,000 (p<0,05), maka terdapat pengaruh problematic internet use terhadap pelaku cyberbullying pada mahasiswa universitas “X” dan terdapat pengaruh positif yaitu semakin tinggi tingkat problematic internet use maka semakin tinggi kemungkinan individu menjadi pelaku cyberbullying. *ABSTRACT* This study aims to determine the effect of problematic internet use on cyberbullying perpetrators in college students at “X” university. This research is using quantitative methods. This study using instrument Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale 2 (GPIUS2) from Caplan (2010) to measured problematic internet use and using instrument The Second Revised Cyber Bullying Inventory (RCBI-II) from Topcu and Erdur-Baker (2018) to measured cyberbullying perpetrators. This study was conducted on 116 samples from 18-22 years old and showed that the level of problematic internet use among college students at “X” university was classified in the high category. Based on the result showed that the significance (p) is 0,000 (p < 0.05), there is an effect of problematic internet use on cyberbullying perpetrators in college students at “X” university and there is a positive effect which means the higher problematic internet use of an a individual, the higher possibility of an a individual to be cyberbullying perpetrators.
