Abstract

This study aims to determine if there is an increase self-control student of state High School 3 Batam before and after receiving the application of online guidance group with self-management techniques. Method in this study is a pre-experimental one group pretest posttest design, through the application of group guidance using self-management techniques. Instrument used in this study is self control scale from De Ridder (2011), which has gone through the process of adaptation into Indonesian by Arifin & Milla (2020). The population in this study were 37 students of science class XI 6, used purposive sampling technique to take samples as one group with 9 students with low and moderate self-control categories with scores below 40 (< 40). This research is included in non-parametric statistics. Hypothesis testing to see increase in student self control through the application of guidance group services with self-management techniques uses the Wilcoxon signed rank test, by comparing pretest and posttest scores on SPSS 25. The results of hypothesis testing show that the value of asymp.sig is 0.011 < 0.05 (α). The results of hypothesis testing indicate that there is an increase in students self control after the application of guidance group with self-management techniques, this can be seen from the increase average score of 6 points, so hypothesis in this study is accepted.
