Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatahui adakah hubungan antara tingkat adiksi media sosia tiktok dengan kepercayaan diri (self confidence) pada mahasiswa di masa pandemi covid-19. Sampel yang digunakan adalah mahasiswa aktif di Universitas Negeri Jakarta dari berbagai program studi dan angkatan yang menggunakan media sosial tiktok yakni sebanyak 121 orang. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan non probability sampling dengan teknik purposive sampling. metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan statistika deskriptif dan inferensial. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen adaptasi social media addiction scale yang dimodifikasi kembali dan instrumen adaptasi self confidence scale. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan adanya hubungan korelasi yang bersifat negatif signifikan antara adiksi media sosial tiktok dengan kepercayaan diri mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Sebagian besar mahasiswa masuk kedalam kategori ketergantungan sedang (57%) dan memiliki tingkat kepercayaan diri yang lemah (95%). Kata Kunci: media sosial tiktok, adiksi media sosial tiktok, kepercayaan diri (self confidence), pandemi covid-19. ************ ABSTRACT This study aims to know if there is a correlation between the level of tiktok social media addiction and students’ self-confidence during the covid-19 pandemic. The sample consists of 121 active students from various study programs and batches at the State University of Jakarta who use tiktok social media. Non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling technique was used. The quantitative approach is used in this research, with descriptive and inferential statistics. A modified social media addiction scale adaptation instrument and a self-confidence scale adaptation instrument are used to collect the data. The findings revealed a significant negative correlation between tiktok social media addiction and Jakarta State University students’ self-confidence. The majority of students fall into the category of the majority of students (57%) are moderately dependent and have low self-confidence (95%).
