Abstract

The purpose of this study was to study the three forms of transformational change in Eneste's theory that occurred in the ecranization of the comic Hadashi no Gen (1973) into the animation Hadashi no Gen (1983). This research uses objects in the form of the Hadashi no Gen comic (1973) by Keiji Nakazawa and the animation Hadashi no Gen (1983) by Mori Masaki which are studied with comparative literature studies. The researcher uses the note-taking method to collect data from existing research objects, then the author interprets it using descriptive analysis techniques and analyzes it with the theory of three changes in Eneste's ekranasi. Furthermore, based on the results of the analysis, various implications of the three theories in the ecranization carried out by Mori Masaki were found for the work of Keiji Nakazawa. Mori subtraction, addition and variation of scenes with various ekranasi techniques is done to obtain a series of plots and story messages according to what Mori wants to convey. In addition, Mori also took advantage of these three ecranization changes to avoid various violations of the code of ethics and other controversies in the ecranization process. Then in the analysis, the researcher also found that there were differences in the messages that Mori and Keiji wanted to convey in each of their works. Then the researcher also found that many elements in the two works took references from facts and reality.
