Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa melalui pendekatan saintifik dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Talk Write (TTW) di kelas VIII-E SMP Negeri 115 Jakarta. Kemampuan komunikasi matematis adalah kemampuan mengkomunikasikan matematika baik secara lisan maupun tulisan dan cara berbagi ide serta mengklarifikasi pemahaman, maka melalui komunikasi, ide-ide menjadi objek refleksi, diskusi, serta perbaikan. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam 3 siklus dengan setiap siklusnya terdiri dari 2 pertemuan. Setiap siklus dilakukan tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, analisis, dan refleksi. Penelitian ini berlangsung dari bulan Oktober sampai November 2016 di kelas VIII-E SMP Negeri 115 Jakarta tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Pada setiap siklus, siswa diberikan tes akhir siklus untuk mengukur kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi, lembar tes, pedoman wawancara dan alat dokumentasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika melalui pendekatan saintifik dengan model pembelajaran Think Talk Write (TTW) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan dengan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata tes akhir yang diberikan pada setiap siklus. Rata-rata nilai tes akhir kemampuan komunikasi matematis kelas VIII-E pada siklus I yaitu 56,48, dan siklus II meningkat menjadi 68,29 kemudian terjadi peningkatan kembali pada siklus III menjadi 87,73. This research is purposed to improve the abilities of student’s mathematical commication through scientific approach with Think-Talk-Write Cooperative Learning Model on 8th Grade Junior High School 115 Jakarta. Mathematical Communication Skills is the abilities to communicate mathematics orally and articullarly and the way to share the ideas and also to clarify the comprehensions, so that through those things it will transforms to be reflection objects, discussion materials, and also amandment. This research is the Class-Action Research that conducted within 3 cycles with each cycles consist of 2 appointment. Each cycle is consist of planning, implementation, analysist, and reflection. This research takes about 2 months from October to November 2016 in 8th Grade of 115 State Junior High School, Jakarta period of 2016/2017. In each cycle, the students receive the test to measure their mathematical communications skill. The data collection instrument of this research is using observation sheet, thest sheet, the interview guidance and documentation tools.To conduct data collections, researcher using observations, tests, interviews, and documentations methods The output of this research shows that mathematics learning through scientific approach of Think-Talk-Write (TTW) learning model can improve student’s mathematical communication skills. Its proved by the average of their final test values that can be seen of each cycle. The average values of their mathematical communication skill’s final test in 8th Grade on the First Cycle is 56.48, and for the Cycle II, it increase to 68.29, and for the third cycle there is a significant improvement on their final test and the average values of their mathematical communication skill test is 87.23
