Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan membaca permulaan anak usia 5-6 tahun di PAUD Tunas Tanjung Priok, Jakarta Utara melalui permainan kotak misteri yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei – Juni 2017. Subjek penelitian adalah sekelompok siswa PAUD Tunas Tanjung Priok, Jakarta Utara kelompok B yang mempunyai masalah pada kemampuan membaca permulaan sebanyak 8 orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Satu siklus terdiri dari 4 tahap, yaitu: 1) perencanaan, 2) tindakan, 3) pengamatan, 4) refleksi. Teknik pengumpul data yang digunakan adalah; teknik observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Indikator keberhasilan dalam penelitian ini adalah apabila rata-rata kemampuan membaca permulaan anak telah mencapai 75%. Dari hasil analisis data persentase diperoleh hasil pada sebesar 81%. Berdasarkan hasil persentase yang telah ditetapkan maka hipotesis tindakan diterima. Adapun temuan secara kualitatif diperoleh bahwa kemampuan membaca permulaan dapat meningkat ditandai dengan anak mampu membaca gambar, mengenal huruf, membaca kata, dan memahami makna kata.Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa permainan kotak misteri dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan pada siswa PAUD Tunas di kelompok B yang berusia 5-6 tahun. The study aims of this research was to reveal promoting children’s reading ability aged five to six years old students at PAUD Tunas, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta by mystery box games. It was conducted in February until June 2017. The subjects of this research were 8 students of PAUD Tunas, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta that have early reading ability problem. The method used in this study is a classroom action research. The cycle consists of four stages: 1) planning, 2) acting, 3) observing and, 4) reflecting. Techniques using the researcher used three non-test data collection on the implementation of measures and data children’s reading ability through observation techniques in the form of field notes, guidelines for appraisal of confidence, photo documentation of activities and interviews. The data analysis technique used in this research was the analysis of quantitative and qualitative. The indicators of success in this research were that if the average of the early reading ability of children has reached 75%. And the percentage of the result showed 81%. Based on the result, hypothesis in this research was accepted. The qualitative proved that the children’s reading ability can be promote was indicated by the child was able to read pictures, reqognize, letters, reading the words, and understanding the meaning of the word. And this can be concluded that mystery box games can promote the students’ early reading ability of the age 5-6 years old at PAUD Tunas, North Jakarta.
