Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar modul matematika untuk siswa kelas VIII SMP Terbuka. Berdasarkan analisis karakteristik dan kebutuhan siswa, materi yang dibahas pada modul yang dikembangkan adalah Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel dan pendekatan pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kontekstual. Prinsip pendekatan kontekstual adalah mengaitkan materi dengan kehidupan nyata dan menggunakan tujuh asas, yaitu konstruktivisme, bertanya, inkuiri, masyarakat belajar, pemodelan, refleksi, dan penilaian nyata. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (research and development). Penelitian ini melalui lima tahap, yaitu analisis produk yang akan dikembangkan, pengembangan produk awal, validasi ahli dan revisi, uji coba lapangan skala kecil dan revisi, dan uji coba lapangan skala besar dan produk akhir. Berdasarkan hasil uji validitas oleh ahli materi dan bahasa diperoleh persentase rata-rata keseluruhan sebesar 82,59% sehingga dalam aspek materi dan bahasa termasuk dalam kriteria sangat baik. Modul yang dikembangkan sesuai dengan kurikulum matematika yang digunakan oleh SMP Terbuka, setiap komponen yang disajikan jelas dan mudah dipahami, uraian materi sesuai dengan konsep matematika, penguraian materi sesuai dengan pendekatan kontekstual, dan bahasa yang digunakan baik dan sesuai dengan tatanan bahasa yang baik dan benar. Kemudian persentase rata-rata keseluruhan yang diperoleh dari uji validitas oleh ahli media adalah 87,6% sehingga dalam aspek media termasuk dalam kriteria sangat baik. Penyajian secara keseluruhan dan desain isi modul sudah sangat baik. Persentase rata-rata secara keseluruhan yang diperoleh dari uji coba lapangan skala besar adalah 87,18%. Persentase tersebut menunjukkan bahwa modul masuk dalam kriteria sangat baik, sehingga layak digunakan untuk pembelajaran matematika SMP Terbuka pada materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel. This study is aimed to develop math module as instructional materials for 8th grade at Open Junior High School. Based on the students characteristics and needs analysis, the topic that discussed in the developed module is Systems of Linear Equations Two Variables and learning approach that used is contextual approach. The principle of contextual approach is to link the material to real life and using the seven principles, they are constructivism, questioning, inquiry, learning community, modelling, reflection, and authentic assessment. The method that used in this study is Research and Development. This study through five stages, they are the analysis of the product to be developed, early product development, experts validation and revision, small-scale field trials and revisions, and large-scale field trials and the final product. Based on the content and language experts validation obtained the overall average percentage of 82.59%, so in this aspect of the content and the language included in the very well-criteria. The developed module according to the math curriculum that used by Open Junior High School, each component that was described is clear and easy to be understood, the topic explanation according to mathematical concept, the topic explanation according to contextual approach, and the language that used is good and according to the right order of language. Then the overall average percentage that is obtained from the media experts validation is 87.6%, thus in this aspect of media included in the very well-criteria. The overall presentation and the design of module are very good. The overall average percentage that is obtained from the large-scale field trials is 87.18%. This percentage indicates that the module is included in the very well-criteria, so that the module is worth to be used for the mathematicslearning at Open Junior High School in Systems of Linear Equations Two Variables topic.
