Abstract
Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa Gambaran Penindasan dalam novel J.K Rowling: Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secret. Untuk menggambarkan analisa yang tepat penulis menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif untuk menyajikan data dan analisa yang sesuai..menggunakan kritisi Marx yang menemukan adanya kelas-kelas dalam masyarakat dan mengidentifikasi tindakan penindasan dengan teori lima jenis penindasan oleh Iris Young untuk menemukan penggambaran penindasan dalam novel Harry Potter. studi ini menemukan bahwa dominasi budaya merupakan temuan yang paling dominan, kecenderungan grup berkuasa mengontrol grup atau individu lain meruapakan temuan dominan dalam buku ini. Sebagai tambahan, studi ini menemukan bahwa keluarga penyihir tua yang berpengaruh merupakan pelaku dominan penindasan di dunia sihir. This study aim to reveal how oppression portrayed in J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secret novel. In order to describe and analyze the data found in the novel, the study use descriptive analytical method to reveal facts with appropiate interpretation. This study use Marx criticism that point out the existence of classes in society and ultilized Irish Young’s Five face of opression to indetify the act of opression toward the characters in Harry Potter novels to find out how oppression portrayed in the novels. This study conclude that cultural dominance is the most common type of oppression that occur in wizard society. The dominant group tend to control the other group / person and feel that they superior to them. In addition, wizard who come from old and respected family who possessed the most wealth and best connection is a type of group that oppress the other group in wizard society.
