Abstract

Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah menyediakan media informasi dan menyampaikan pesan tentang pentingnya pendidikan seni untuk mencapai cita-cita bangsa Indonesia kepada masyarakat khususnya remaja. Penelitian ini didasari oleh problematika yang saat ini terjadi di sekitar kita yaitu kurangnya perhatian pemerintah dan masyarakat terhadap eksistensi budaya daerah dalam proses pendidikan dan bermasyarakat. Picture book merupakan salah satu media yang sering dijumpai di toko buku dengan format yang berbeda-beda. Visual dan konten tulisan yang disajikan mempengaruhi target pasar mulai dari anak-anak hingga dewasa. Produk yang dihasilkan dari penelitian ini memiliki keunikan dalam format penyajiannya, yaitu menggunakan format potrait dengan teknik lipat pada finishing picture book. Produk Picture book ini berisi konsep tulisan pendidikan seni oleh Ki Hadjar Dewantara lengkap dengan ilustrasi yang memvisualkan aktivitas berkesenian remaja masa kini. Tema ini dipilih karena kesenian menjadi aspek penting untuk menunjang karakter anak-anak bangsa, dan kesenian Indonesia adalah bagian penting serta menjadi identitas bangsa Indonesia. Pembuatan picture book ini menggunakan beberapa software seperti Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator dan Procreate dan selanjutnya diproses cetak digital printing. Desain produk picture book ini diciptakan dengan desain layout visual menyesuaikan trend 2021 yaitu menekankan pada prinsip kesederhanaan dalam tampilan desain serta ilustrasi yang memiliki karakter tersendiri dan tidak mainstream. Picture book ini dapat diguanakan sebagai media belajar dan setelah itu dapat dikoleksi sebagai bentuk kecintaan dan kepedulian terhadap kehidupan seni di Indonesia yang berujung pada tertanamnya keluhuran budi pada setiap anak bangsa. Selanjutnya diharapkan produk picture book ini dapat menjadi inspirasi bagi masyarakat dan membantu menyampaikan pesan mengenai penting pendidikan seni bagi kehdupan bermasyarakat dan ikut bersaing dalam dunia industri kreatif. The main goal of this research is to present an information media and bring a message about the importance of art education to achieve the ideals of the Indonesian nation to the community, especially teenagers. This research is based on the issue that is currently happening around us, such as the indifference of the government and society to reality of cultural sphere in the process of education and society. Picture book is one of the media that usually found in bookstores with different formats. The visuals content of the writing affect the target market ranging from children to adults. The result of the product has a uniqueness in the presentation format, namely using potrait format with folding techniques on the finishing picture book. The product contains some art education concept writing by Ki Hadjar Dewantara alongside with illustrations that visualize the art activities of today's youth. This theme was chosen because art becomes an important aspect to support character of the nation's children, and Indonesian art is an important identity of the Indonesian nation. The creation of this picture book uses several software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Procreate and then refined digital printing. The visual layout design following 2021 trend that emphasizes on the principle of simplicity in the look of the design and illustrations that have their own character and not mainstream. This picture book can be used as a learning medium and can be collected as a form of love and concern for art life in Indonesia that leads to the instillation of nobility in every child of the nation. Furthermore, it is expected that this picture book can be an inspiration for the community and help convey the message about the importance of art education for the community and compete in the world of creative industries
