Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tiga tujuan utama, Pertama, untuk mendeskripsikan latar belakang pembentukan komunitas belajar “Sekolah di Utara” di wilayah Kampung Nelayan Cilincing, Jakarta Utara. Kedua, untuk mendeskripsikan berbagai bentuk inovasi sosial yang dibuat oleh komunitas belajar “Sekolah di Utara”. Ketiga, untuk mendeskripsikan implikasi service learning dari inovasi sosial yang dilakukan oleh komunitas belajar “Sekolah di Utara”. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan metode studi kasus. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dokumentasi, dan studi literatur. Subjek penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 4 informan kunci yaitu founder komunitas belajar “Sekolah di Utara”, co-founder, dan 2 relawan yang menjadi pengajar di komunitas belajar “Sekolah di Utara”. Kemudian dilengkapi oleh 4 informan triangulasi, yaitu 3 orang tua dari peserta didik yang mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran di komunitas belajar “Sekolah di Utara”, dan kepala kampung wilayah Kampung Nelayan Cilincing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan komunitas belajar “Sekolah di Utara” merupakan salah satu bentuk perwujudan dari adanya inovasi sosial dalam ranah lembaga pendidikan alternatif di wilayah Kampung Nelayan Cilincing. Di mana inovasi sosial dalam bidang pendidikan yang diberikan meliputi aspek kelembagaan, kurikulum, pembelajaran, pendekatan peserta didik, dan jejaring pendukung. Adanya inovasi sosial di dalam kelima aspek tersebut memberikan implikasi tersendiri bagi anak-anak ataupun masyarakat setempat wilayah Kampung Nelayan Cilincing dengan diterapkannya model service learning (pembelajaran layanan) di dalam setiap kegiatannya. ***** This study has three main objectives, first, to describe the background of the formation of a learning community "Sekolah di Utara" in the Kampung Nelayan Cilincing, North Jakarta. Second, to describe the various forms of social innovations made by the learning community "Sekolah di Utara". Third, to describe the service learning implications of social innovation carried out by the learning community "Sekolah di Utara". This research uses a qualitative approach, with a case study method. Research data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The subjects of this study were as many as 4 key informants, namely the founder of the learning community "Sekolah di Utara", co-founders, and 2 volunteers who became teachers in the learning community "Sekolah di Utara". Then equipped by 4 triangulation informants, namely 3 parents of students who participated in learning activities in the learning community "Sekolah di Utara", and the head of the village of the Kampung Nelayan Cilincing area. The results showed that the formation of a learning community "Sekolah di Utara" is a form of embodiment of social innovation in the realm of alternative educational institutions in the Kampung Nelayan Cilincing area. Where social innovations in the field of education provided include institutional aspects, curriculum, learning, student approaches, and supporting networks. The existence of social innovation in these five aspects has its own implications for children or the local community of the Kampung Nelayan Cilincing area by applying the service learning model in each of its activities.
