Abstract

Dalam pendidikan jasmani, banyak tenaga pengajar yang masih tabu dalam bahasa pendidikan olahraga. Hal ini menjadi suatu ironi di dunia pendidikan dalam negeri dimana pengajar seharusnya memahami makna dibalik pendidikan jasmani, maka dari itu ada istilah yang dapat membedakannya. Istilah tersebut berasal dari bahasa Inggris yaitu physical literacy. Artinya memahami literasi fisik dan pendidikan jasmani sangat erat kaitanya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti tentang bagaimana peran literasi fisik siswa sekolah menengah pertama. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yang dilakukan dengan cara menyebar kuesioner melalui google form terhadap 93 siswa sekolah menengah pertama di Labschool UNJ Kebayoran yang diambil dengan menggunakan rumus metode random sampling dan diuji dengan menggunakan aplikasi SPSS 25.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa siswa yang dijadikan sampel memiliki pemahaman dan motivasi di atas rata-rata melalui empat indikator, diantaranya ada afektif, fisik, kognitif dan perilaku. Dengan adanya hasil tersebut, maka diharapkan bagi guru untuk memberikan rangsangan positif kepada peserta didik, dengan cara memodifikasi metode mengajar yang lebih menarik atau variatif supaya siswa lebih semangat untuk mengikuti pelajaran dan bagi siswa yang memiliki pemahaman literasi fisik di bawah rata-rata sebaiknya membiasakan diri dengan menerapkan aktifitas fisik di lingkungan akademik, karena sejatinya aktifitas fisik di kehidupan nyata dan lingkungan akademik itu berkesinambungan. *** Meanwhile, physical education is education for the body and education through physical activity. In physical education, many teaching staff are still taboo in the language of sports education. This is an irony in the world of domestic education where teachers must understand the meaning behind physical education, therefore there is a term that can distinguish it. The term comes from English, namely physical literacy. This means that understanding physical literacy and physical education is very closely related. Therefore, this study aims to examine the role of physical literacy in junior high school students. This study uses a quantitative approach which is carried out by distributing questionnaires via google form to 93 junior high school students at Labschool UNJ Kebayoran who were taken using the random sampling method formula and tested using the SPSS 25.0 application. The results showed that the students who were sampled had above average understanding and motivation through four indicators, including affective, physic, cognitive, and behavior. With these results, it is expected for teachers to provide positive stimulation to students, by modifying teaching methods that are more interesting or varied so that students are more enthusiastic to take lessons and for students who understand physical literacy below the average, it is better to apply physical activity in the academic environment, because the actual physical activity and the reallife environment.
