Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tiga tahap kesadaran tokoh Elektra dalam novel Supernova 3: Petir karya Dee Lestari dengan menggunakan kajian psikologi transpersonal. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi novel. Pendekatan yang digunakan ialah pendekatan strukturalisme Robert Stanton dan pendekatan psikologi transpersonal Maurice Bucke. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Elektra mengalami tiga tahap kesadaran yang diperkenalkan oleh Maurice Bucke, yaitu kesadaran sederhana, kesadaran diri, dan kesadaran kosmik. Dari tiga tahap kesadaran tersebut, kesadaran kosmik mendominasi kesadaran tokoh Elektra. Hal ini juga berhubungan dengan salah satu karakter Elektra, yaitu sikap irasional. Kesadaran sederhana terlihat dari Elektra yang tidak menyadari bahwa dirinya memiliki kemampuan mengalirkan listrik yang sering kali membuatnya berperilaku aneh. Kesadaran diri terlihat dari Elektra yang mengenal dengan baik kepribadian dan bentuk fisiknya. Kesadaran kosmik terlihat dari Elektra yang memercayai adanya makhluk gaib dan kekuatan mistik juga dari pengalaman mistiknya sendiri yang semakin membuat ia percaya kalau benar-benar ada manusia yang mendapat ‘anugerah’ dari Tuhan untuk memiliki kekuatan atau kemampuan mistik. This research purposes to describe the three grades of consciousness of the Elektra in the novel Supernova 3: Petir by Dee Lestari using transpersonal psychology study. This research is a qualitative research with novel content analysis technique. The approach used is the structruralism approach of Robert Stanton and the transpersonal psychology approach of Maurice Bucke. The results showed that Elektra experienced three grades of consciousness introduced by Maurice Bucke, i.e. simple consciousness, self consciousness, and cosmic consciousness. Of the three grades of consciousness, cosmic consciousness dominates the consciousness of the Elektra. This is also related to one of Elektra’s characters, i.e. irrational demeanor. Simple consciousness is seen by Elektra, who doesn’t realize that she has the ability to conduct electricity, which often makes her behave strangely. Self consciousness can be seen by Elektra, who knows her personality and physical form well. Cosmic consciousness can be seen by Elektra, who believes in supernatural beings and mystical powers as well as from her own mystical experience, which further makes her believe that three really are humans, who have received gifts from God to have mystical powers or abilities.
