Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran empati budaya pada mahasiswa calon pendidik. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah mahasiswa angkatan 2020 di Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei dengan populasi 847 orang dan sampel sebanyak 272 responden yang diambil menggunakan teknik cluster sampling. Penelitian dilakukan secara online menggunakan Skala Empati Budaya yang digagas oleh Wang, Yu-Wei, dkk. (2003) dengan jumlah item sebanyak 31 item. Aspek-aspek dalam Skala Empati Budaya yaitu: (1) perasaan dan ekspresi empati, (2) mengambil perspektif empati, (3) menerima perbedaan budaya, dan (4) kesadaran empati. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistik deskriptif. Hasil perolehan gambaran empati budaya mahasiswa secara keseluruhan berada pada kategori tinggi dengan persentase sebesar 56%. Berdasarkan aspek, persentase tertinggi pada kategori tinggi berada pada aspek perasaan dan ekspresi empati (71%), pada kategori sedang berada pada aspek pengambilan perspektif empati (57,4%), dan pada kategori rendah berada pada aspek penerimaan perbedaan budaya (7%). Berdasarkan program studi, persentase tertinggi pada kategori tinggi adalah program studi Pendidikan Masyarakat (81%), sedangkan pada kategori sedang adalah program studi Pendidikan Khusus (62%). Berdasarkan jenis kelamin menunjukkan persentase mahasiswa laki-laki (58%) sedikit lebih tinggi dibanding mahasiswa perempuan (55%) pada ketegori tinggi. ***** This study aims to find out the illustration of cultural for prospective educator students. The population in this study is the class of 2020 students at the Faculty of Education, State University of Jakarta. . The method used is a survey with a population of 847 people and the sample used was 272 respondents who were taken using cluster sampling technique. The study was conducted online using the Cultural Empathy Scale initiated by Wang, Yu-Wei, et al. (2003) with a total of 31 items. The aspects of the Cultural Empathy Scale are: (1) feelings and expressions of empathy, (2) taking an empathetic perspective, (3) accepting cultural differences, and (4) empathic awareness. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics. The results of obtaining a picture of student cultural empathy as a whole are in the high category with a percentage of 56%. Based on the aspect, the highest percentage in the high category was in the aspect of feeling and expressing empathy (71%), in the medium category it was in the aspect of taking an empathetic perspective (57.4%), and in the low category it was in the aspect of accepting differences. culture (7%). Based on the study program, the highest percentage in the high category is the Community Education study program (81%), while in the medium category is the Special Education study program (62%). Based on gender, the percentage of male students (58%) was slightly higher than female students (55%) in the high category.
