Abstract

Skripsi ini menampilkan analisis bingkai mengenai berita tentang konser Lady Gaga yang mendapatkan protes di Jakarta dalam The New York Times edisi 15 & 28 Mei dan Kuwait Times edisi 16 & 25 Mei 2012.Analisis bingkai digunakan karena penulis akan mencari tahu ideologi yang terdapat dalam pemberitaan mengenai konser Lady Gaga yang mendapatkan protes di Jakarta di The New York Times dan Kuwait Times. Tujuan analisis ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi ideologi yang terdapat dalam berita konser Lady Gaga yang mendapat protes di masing masing surat kabar. Teori bingkai yang digunakan adalah teori dari Zhongdang Pan dan Kosicki. Teori ini digunakan untuk menganalisa ideologi dalam berita konser Lady Gaga yang mendapat protes di Jakarta melalui analisis struktur sintaktis, skrip, thematic, dan retoris. Analisis ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analitis interpretative, karena penulis akan mencari tahu bingkai yang akan membentuk pola piker Koran-koran tersebut dalam memunculkan ideologi. Ada beberapa perbedaan dalam penyampaian berita mengenai konser Lady Gaga yang mendapat protes yang dimuat oleh The New York Times dan Kuwait Times. Pernedaan tersebut dapat dilihat dari struktur sintaktis, skrip, tematis, dan retoris yang berbeda dala empat surat kabar tersebut. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil adalah bahwa ideologi dalam The New York Times dan Kuwait Times berbeda, karena tiap surat kabar memiliki tema dan struktur bingkai tersendiri dalam menciptakan dan menyampaikan berita. ***** This skripsi presents a framing analysis of the Lady Gaga’s show get protest news in The New York Times May 15th & 28th and Kuwait Times 16th & 25th 2012 edition. The framing analysis is chosen because the written will find out how The New York Times and Kuwait Times construct their ideology towards Lady Gaga’s show get protest. The aim of the analysis is to identify the ideology that will be concluded by analyzing the framing making in Lady Gaga’s show get protest in Jakarta news in each newspaper. The framing theory from Zhongdang Pan and Kosicki is used to examine the ideology in the news article by analyzing syntactical, scripts, thematic, and rhetorical structures. The analysis uses descriptive analytical interpretative method because the writer will finally interpret the ideology in those newspapers. After analyzing those four structures in terms of the delivering news on Lady Gaga’s show receive protest in Jakarta which is published in The New York Times May 15th & 28th and Kuwait Times 16th & 25th, the writer finds out that the perspectives The New York Times is supporting Lady Gaga with some sentences. Then Kuwait Times without supporting Muslims in Indonesia, Kuwait Times tried to make just a explanation about this problem from some quotations and statements. The differences can be seen from the distinct of syntactical, script, thematic, and rhetorical structures in four newspapers. As conclusion, the ideology in The New York Times and Kuwait Times are dissimilar because each newspapers has its own themes and structures of framing in providing and delivering news.
