Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan gambaran motivasi belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran larutan penyangga menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual dengan Predict-Observe-Explain (POE). Penelitian dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2021/2022 di kelas XI MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 107 Jakarta dengan melibatkan 40 peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi, reflektif jurnal, dan wawancara untuk mengetahui motivasi peserta didik selama pembelajaran berlangsung. Motivasi belajar peserta didik diamati melalui enam faktor motivasi berdasarkan Tuan, Chin, dan Shieh (2005) yaitu self efficacy, active learning strategies, science learning value, performance goal, achievement goal dan stimulation learning environment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada aspek self efficacy terlihat adanya peningkatan percaya diri peserta didik terhadap pembelajaran kimia. Aspek active learning strategies menunjukkan peserta didik terlibat aktif dalam menggunakan berbagai strategi dalam belajar. Aspek science learning value menunjukkan peserta didik merasakan nilai-nilai sains selama pembelajaran larutan penyangga. Aspek performance goal dan achievement goal menunjukkan adanya motivasi secara ekstrinsik dan intrinsik pada peserta didik. Terakhir, aspek stimulation learning environment menunjukkan pendekatan kontekstual dengan POE mendorong peserta didik dalam belajar. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan kontekstual dengan POE pada pembelajaran larutan penyangga dapat memotivasi peserta didik dalam belajar. ********* The purpose of this study was to get an overview of students’ learning motivation in learning buffer solutions using a context-based approach with Predict-Observe-Explain (POE). The research was conducted in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year in class XI MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 107 Jakarta involving 40 students. The research method used is qualitative. The research data were obtained through observation, reflective journals and interviews to determine the motivation of students during the learning process. There are six motivational factors observed the students' learning motivation based on Tuan, Chin, dan Shieh (2005), namely self efficacy, active learning strategies, science learning value, performance goal, achievement goal and stimulation learning environment. The results showed that in the aspect of self-efficacy, there was an increase in students' confidence in learning chemistry. The aspect of active learning strategies shows that students are actively involved in using various strategies in learning. The aspect of science learning value shows that students feel the values of science during buffer solution learning. Aspects of performance goals and achievement goals show the extrinsic and intrinsic motivation of students. Finally, the stimulation learning environment aspect shows a contextual approach with POE encouraging students to learn. This shows that the application of a contextual approach with POE in buffer solution learning can motivate students in learning.
