Abstract

Literasi yaitu kemampuan untuk memahami dan menciptakan referensi yang dibaca secara fleksibel dalam situasi berbeda. Data dari beberapa lembaga menunjukkan Indonesia dalam keadaan darurat literasi. Oleh karenanya, diperlukan pendekatan pembelajaran yang tepat seperti pendekatan kontekstual. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi bahasa melalui pendekatan kontekstual pada siswa kelas III di SDN Cengkareng Barat 09 Pagi. Pendekatan kontekstual dipilih karena siswa sekolah dasar berada dalam tahap operasional konkret. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis dan Tagart. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan nontes. Penelitian dilakukan sebanyak 3 siklus dan hasilnya dianalisis secara kualitatif. Perolehan hasil kemampuan literasi siswa pretest sebesar 47%. Siklus I menjadi 67% dan 77% pada siklus II. Pada siklus III hasilnya mencapai 87%. Perolehan hasil aktivitas siswa pada siklus I sebesar 52%, 74% pada siklus II, dan bertambah menjadi 89% di siklus III. Peningkatan pada aktivitas guru yakni 72% pada siklus I, 85% di siklus II, dan pada siklus III 96%. Berdasarkan data tersebut, terbukti bahwa literasi bahasa dapat meningkat melalui pendekatan kontekstual. Disarankan untuk menjalin kerja sama yang baik antara pihak sekolah, orang tua, lingkungan masyarakat, dan instansi terkait untuk mengembangkan kemampuan literasi siswa sehingga dapat menjadi manusia yang literat. ********** Literacy has a deeper meaning into the ability to understand and create references that are read flexibly in different situations. Data from several institutions shows that Indonesia is in a literacy emergency. Obervation results in class III SDN Cengkareng Barat 09 Pagi confirmed that students' reading and speaking abilities were still low. So that an appropriate learning approach is needed as is the contextual approach. The purpose of this study is to improve language literacy skills through contextual approach in third grade students at SDN Cengkareng Barat 09 Pagi. The contextual approach was chosen by the researcher considering that elementary school-age students are in a concrete operational stage. The research method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with Kemmis and Tagart models. Data collection techniques using test and non-test. The study was conducted in 3 cycles and the results were analyzed qualitatively. The acquisition of the results of student literacy skills at the pretest by 47%. Increased the number in the first cycle to 67% and 77% in the second cycle. In third cycle the results reached 87%. While the acquisition of student activity results in applying contextual approaches in first cycle was 52%, 74% in cycle II, and increased to 89% in cycle III. Increases also occurred in teacher activities with the same approach, namely 72% in cycle I, 85% in cycle II, and in cycle III it reached 96%. Based on these data, it is evident that language literacy can be increased through contextual approaches. It is recommended to establish good cooperation between the school, parents, the community, and related institutions to develop student literacy skills so that they can become literate humans.
