Abstract

Tradisi lisan teater Dulmuluk merupakan ikon Kota Palembang yang berbentuk teater tradisional. Tradisi ini tentu saja memiliki fungsi dan mengandung nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang dapat dijadikan pedoman dalam berprilaku bagi masyarakat Palembang. Namun seiring perkembangan zaman, eksistensi pertunjukan teater Dulmuluk semakin memudar. Pertunjukan teater Dulmuluk mulai terpinggirkan di masyarakat Kota Palembang. Hal inilah yang mendasari pentingnya penelitian ini sebagai langkah penguatan tradisi lisan teater Dulmuluk. Fokus penelitian ini adalah sistem pewarisan tradisi lisan teater Dulmuluk: kajian struktur dan fungsi, nilai-nilai kearifan lokal, dan revitalisasi di masyarakat kota Palembang. Kemudian fokus tersebut dijabarkan ke dalam empat subfokus struktur dan fungsi, nilai-nilai kearifan lokal, sistem pewarisan, dan revitalisasi teater Dulmuluk di masyarakat Kota Palembang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode etnografi. Data diperoleh dari hasil observasi, rekaman dan wawancara dengan para informan dan rekaman pertunjukan teater Dulmuluk serta dokumentasi. Adapun hasil penelitian, (1) struktur pertunjukan teater Dulmuluk di masyarakat Palembang ini terdiri dari kegiatan ritual, bermas pembuka, babak dan adegan cerita, dan bermas penutup. Hal inilah yang menjadi ciri atau pakem pertunjukan teater Dulmuluk di masyarakat Palembang. Namun saat ini, seperti kegiatan ritual sudah menyesuaikan dengan situasi dan kondisi yang menanggap. Bila pertunjukan hanya berdurasi 30 menit samapai 60 menit biasanya ritual tidak dilakukan, tetapi bila pertunjukan yang diminta masyarakat misalnya di acara pernikahan yang berdurasi lama kegiatan ritual masih dilakukan. Teater ini memiliki fungsi sebagai pendidikan bagi generasi muda karena pertunjukan ini mengandung nilai-nilai kearifan lokal, meningkatkan perasaan solidaritas suatu kelompok baik antarpemain maupun bagi masyarakat penonton, memberi sanksi sosial bagi yang bersalah dan mengajarkan kebaikan-kebaikan, sebagai sarana kritik sosial yang disampaikan melalui guyonan yang segar, dan mengubah pekerjaan yang membosankan menjadi sebuah permainan yang mengasyikan. (2) Nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang terdapat di dalam pertunjukan teater Dulmuluk tidak terlepas dari gambaran dan karakter masyarakat Palembang, yang bersifat keagamaan, kesopanan, kesantunan, dan kehumorisan. 3) Sisstem pewarisan teater dulmuluk yang sudah dilakukan di masyarakat Kota Palembang melalui sistem pewarisan langsung berdasarkan anak keturunan pelaku tradisi dan keturunan tidak langsung yang pewarisan dilakukan dengan belajar atau berguru kepada orang lain. Selanjutnya, bentuk revitalisasi teater Dulmuluk ini melalui digitalisasi yaitu pembuatan film dokumenter, publikasi ke jurnal, dan pengembangan industri kreatif melalui pembuatan video pertunjukan teater Dulmuluk yang akan di upload di youtube, sehingga akan berimbas dengan pendapatan para komunitas. Kata Kunci: Teater Dulmuluk, Struktur, Nilai Kearifan Lokal, Revitalisasi Dulmuluk oral tradition is a cultural icon of Palembang city in the form of traditional theater. This oral tradition naturally has functions and contains values of local wisdom that can be used as a guide in behaving for the people of Palembang. However, through time, the existence of Dulmuluk's theater performances has faded. Dulmuluk theater performances began to be marginalized among the people of Palembang. This is what underlies the importance of this research as a way to reinforce the existence of Dulmuluk oral tradition. The focus of this research is the system of inheritance of Dulmuluk oral tradition through a study of its structures and functions, values of local wisdom, and revitalization among the people of Palembang. The focus of the research is divided into four sub-focuses namely structure and function, local wisdom values, inheritance system, and revitalization of Dulmuluk oral tradition in the people of Palembang. In this research, an ethnographic method was used. Data were obtained from observations, recordings, and interviews with informants, and recordings of Dulmuluk theater performances and documentation. The results of the research show that (1) the structure of the Dulmuluk theater performance consists of ritual activities, opening, the story acts, and closing ceremony. This structure is the characteristic or standard of Dulmuluk theater performances in Palembang. However, the ritual activity’s part has been adapted according to the duration of the show. If it lasts only for 30 minutes to 60 minutes, usually the ritual is not carried out, but if there is a long time for the duration, for example at a wedding party, ritual activities are still carried out. This theater has the function to educate the younger generation because this show contains the values of local wisdom. It also increases the feeling of solidarity among players and the audience. Dulmuluk oral tradition provides social sanctions for those who are guilty and teaches goodness, as a means of social criticism conveyed through fresh jokes, and turns a boring job into a fun game. (2) The values of local wisdom contained in Dulmuluk theater performances cannot be separated from the image and character of the Palembang people, who are religious, polite, and humorous. 3) Dulmuluk oral tradition has a direct inheritance system based on the descendants of traditional actors and indirect descendants whose inheritance is through learning or practicing from others. The revitalization of the Dulmuluk is in the form of digitalization i.e., documentary films, journal articles, creative industry products, and YouTube videos so that it will have an impact on the income of the Dulmuluk community.
