Abstract

Tokoh pendidikan merupakan pahlawan yang memiliki peran dan jasa dalam dunia pendidikan. K.H. Abdurrahman Ambo Dalle merupakan ulama dan tokoh pendidikan asal Sulawesi Selatan yang memiliki kontribusi dalam dunia pendidikan. Penelitian ini menyajikan tentang pemikiran dan peranannya K.H. Abdurrahman Ambo Dalle dalam dunia pendidikan (1935-1949). Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah. Langkah-langkahnya : Heuristik, Verifikasi, Interpretasi, dan Historiografi. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu Pemikiran K.H. Abdurrahman Ambo Dalle mengenai pendidikan yaitu melakukan desentralisasi pesantren bahwa pendidikan harus tersebar ke berbagai pelosok – pelosk daerah, tidak hanya fokus kepada satu tempat belajar saja (pesantren). Dengan tersebarnya pendidikan maka akan memberikan kesempatan kepada masyarakat daerah untuk belajar. Dari Pemikiran tersebut melahirkan peranan beliau sebagai pendidik dengan membangun pesantren DDI Mangkoso yang kemudian melahirkan beberapa cabang – cabang pesantren di berbagai daerah yang didirikan oleh murid – muridnya dan terbentuknya lembaga pendidikan Darud Dakwah Wal Irsyad (DDI) pada tahun 1947 yang berfungsi untuk mewadahi pesantren – pesantren tersebut. *** Educational figures are heroes who have roles and services in the world of education. K.H. Abdurrahman Ambo Dalle is a scholar and educational figure from South Sulawesi who has contributed to the world of education. This study presents the thoughts and roles of K.H. Abdurrahman Ambo Dalle in the world of education (1935 - 1949). This research method uses the historical method. The steps: Heuristics, Verification, Interpretation, and Historiography. The results of this study are the thoughts of K.H. Abdurrahman Ambo Dalle regarding education, namely decentralizing Islamic boarding schools so that education must be spread to various remote areas, not only focusing on one place of study (Islamic boarding school). The spread of education will provide opportunities for local people to learn. This thought gave birth to his role as an educator by building the DDI Mangkoso Islamic boarding school which later gave birth to several pesantren branches in various regions which were founded by his students and the formation of the Darud Dakwah Wal Ersyad (DDI) educational institution in 1947 which functioned to accommodate Islamic boarding schools - the boarding school.
