Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh dukungan sosial keluarga terhadap kematangan emosi pada mahasiswa rantau. Pengumpulan data penelitian ini dimulai dari bulan November 2022 sampai dengan bulan Desember 2022 dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini melibatkan 200 mahasiswa rantau dari tiga perguruan tinggi negeri di Jakarta. Instrumen untuk mengukur dukungan sosial keluarga adalah instrumen yang dikonstruk peneliti berdasarkan dimensi dukungan emosional, dukungan instrumental, dukungan penghargaan, dan dukungan informasi yang terdiri atas 25 pernyataan. Instrumen untuk mengukur kematangan emosi adalah instrumen yang berasal dari instrument baku singh dan bhargava tahun 1977 yang terdiri atas 39 pernyataan. Data yang telah dikumpulkan diolah dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistika parametris dan statistika inferensial, yaitu uji regresi linear sederhana.Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa dukungan sosial keluarga berpengaruh positif terhadap kematangan emosi. Hasil ini menunjukan bahwa semakin tinggi dukungan sosial keluarga yang diterima maka semakin tinggi pula kematangan emosi. Koefisien determinasi yang didapat sebesar 15,7% yang berarti dukungan sosial keluarga mempengaruhi kematangan emosi sebesar 15,7% dan 84,3% lainnya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti pada penelitian ini. Dengan demikian, memberikan dukungan sosial keluarga dapat menjadi salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kematangan emosi pada mahasiswa rantau. ** This study aims to analyze the effect of family social support on emotional maturity in overseas students. The data collection for this research starts from November 2022 to December 2022 using a purposive sampling technique. This research involved 200 overseas students from three public universities in Jakarta. The instrument for measuring family social support is an instrument constructed by researchers based on the dimensions of emotional support, instrumental support, appreciation support, and information support consisting of 25 statements. The instrument for measuring emotional maturity is an instrument derived from the 1977 standard singh and bhargava instrument which consists of 39 statements. The data that has been collected is processed and analyzed using parametric statistics and inferential statistics, namely the simple linear regression test. The results showed that family social support had a positive effect on emotional maturity. These results indicate that the higher the family social support received, the higher the emotional maturity. The coefficient of determination obtained was 15.7%, which means that family social support affects emotional maturity by 15.7% and the other 84.3% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Therefore, providing family social support can be one way to increase the emotional maturity of overseas students
