Abstract

ABSTRAK Annissa Damayanti, Menuju Imajinasi Sosiologi Melalui Media Sosial (Studi Kasus: Akun Instagram @Sociology_Perspective). Skripsi. Jakarta: Program Studi Pendidikan Sosiologi, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, 2023. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan latar belakang pembentukan akun instagram @Sociology_Perspective sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran (2) mendeskripsikan konten dan kegiatan akun instagram @Sociology_Perspective dalam membangun imajinasi sosiologi (3) mendeskripsikan apakah akun instagram @Sociology_Perspective dapat membantu untuk membangun imajinasi sosiologi. Penelitian dilakukan secara online dimulai dari bulan Maret sampai dengan Juni 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan metode studi kasus. Peneliti melakukan observasi, wawancara mendalam, serta dokumentasi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan data penelitian. Objek penelitian ini yaitu akun instagram @Sociology_Perspective. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah enam orang informan kunci, yang terdiri atas pengurus atau admin akun instagram @Sociology_Perspective. Lalu dua orang informan triangulasi, terdiri dari pembicara dan peserta yang merupakan follower akun instagram @Sociology_Perspective. Hasil temuan dari penelitian menunjukan bahwa akun instagram @Sociology_Perspective didirikan karena terdapat sebuah keresahan mengenai belum adanya akun belajar sosiologi yang menarik untuk dijadikan media belajar. Konten dan kegiatan yang terdapat pada akun instagram @Sociology_Perspective meliputi ruang menulis, ruang diskusi, serta ruang informasi menarik. Akun instagram @Sociology_Perspective memberikan dampak yang beragam seperti menambah wawasan sosiologi, membantu peningkatan akademik mata kuliah sosiologi, meningkatkan soft skill, serta membangun daya berpikir kritis. Dampak yang ditimbulkan dari berbagai konten dan kegiatan yang dibagikan akun instagram @Sociology_Perspective, membantu dalam memahami dasar ilmu sosiologi dan mendukung pembangunan imajinasi sosiologi. Namun imajinasi sosiologi tidak dapat terbentuk hanya dengan memanfaatkan konten dan kegiatan yang diadakan akun instagram @Sociology_Perspective. Membangun imajinasi sosiologi membutuhkan waktu yang lama, dibutuhkan kegiatan turun ke lapangan secara langsung untuk memahami realitas kehidupan masyarakat agar dapat membangun kualitas berpikir tersebut. Thesis. Jakarta: Sociology Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University, 2023. This study aims to (1) describe the background of the formation of @Sociology_Perspective Instagram account as an alternative learning media (2) describe the content and activities of @Sociology_Perspective Instagram account in building a sociological imagination (3) describe whether @Sociology_Perspective Instagram account can help to build a sociological imagination. The research was conducted online from March to June 2023. This research uses a qualitative approach, with a case study method. Researchers conduct observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation to meet the needs of research data. The object of this study is @Sociology_Perspective Instagram account. The subjects of this study were six key informants, consisting of administrators or admins of @Sociology_Perspective Instagram accounts. Then two triangulation informants, consisting of speakers and participants who are followers of @Sociology_Perspective Instagram account. The findings of the study show that the Instagram account @Sociology_Perspective was founded because there was a concern about the absence of an interesting sociology learning account to be used as a learning medium. The content and activities contained on the Instagram account @Sociology_Perspective include a writing room, a discussion room, and an interesting information room. The Instagram account @Sociology_Perspective have various impacts such as adding insight into sociology, helping to improve the academics of sociology courses, improving soft skills, and building critical thinking power. The impact caused by the various content and activities shared by @Sociology_Perspective Instagram account, helps in understanding the basis of sociology and supports the construction of the sociological imagination. But the imagination of sociology cannot be formed just by utilizing the content and activities held by @Sociology_Perspective Instagram account. Building the imagination of sociology takes a long time, it takes the activity of going to the field directly to understand the reality of people's lives in order to build these qualities of thinking.
