Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana proses pembentukan karakter siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika di Sekolah Dasar pada masa dan pasca (transisi) pandemi covid-19; menemukan strategi pembelajaran matematika yang digunakan dalam upaya pembentukan karakter siswa dimasa dan pasca (transisi) pandemi covid-19; menemukan faktor apa saja yang mendukung dalam implementasi strategi pembelajaran matematika yang digunakan dalam upaya pembentukan karakter siswa dimasa dan pasca (transisi) pandemi covid-19; dan menemukan faktor penghambat proses pembentukan karakter dalam pembelajaran matematika dimasa dan pasca (transisi) pandemi covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Data dihimpun melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis domain, analisis taksonomi, analisis komponensial dan analisis tema. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas siswa, guru matematika dan orang tua siswa di SD Negeri Bedahan 1, SD Negeri Pasir Putih 2 dan SD Holy Faithful Obedient. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakter siswa yang terbentuk melalui pembelajaran matematika secara daring saat pandemi covid-19 khususnya karakter jujur, disiplin dan tanggungjawab masih kurang efisien karena keterbatasan sarana yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran daring seperti handphone (HP) yang digunakan secara bergantian bersama orang tua, internet/jaringan yang kurang maksimal dan keterbatasan guru untuk mengajar dan mendidik anak karena tidak dapat berhadapan langsung dengan siswa. Proses pembentukan karakter siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika secara daring dilakukan melalui 1)Peran Guru; 2) Peran orang tua; dan 3) Peran siswa. Strategi belajar yang digunakan guru antara lain: 1) Pembiasaan untuk bersikap jujur, disiplin pada aturan dan bertanggung jawab atas tugas yang diberikan; 2)Keteladanan sikap guru; 3) kerja sama dengan orang tua dalam bentuk pemberian pemahaman kepada orang tua dan juga kepada siswa mengenai konsekuensi yang akan dialami anak jika anak bersikap sesuai aturan. Faktor yang mendukung strategi pembentukan karakter dalam belajar matematika secara daring yaitu: 1) Visi dan misi sekolah 2)Sikap guru yang patut diteladani dan konsisten dalam perkataan dan tindakan; 3) kerjasama guru dengan orang tua dalam pendampingan pada anak dan pemahaman orang tua mengenai karakter yang akan ditanamkan dalam diri siswa; dan 4) kesadaran dari dalam diri siswa untuk belajar dan bertanggung jawab akan tugas yang diberikan oleh guru. Sementara faktor penghambat proses pembentukan karakter dalam pembelajaran matematika secara daring yaitu; 1) ketidaksiapan guru untuk mengajar daring; 2) penguasaan teknologi; 3)Sikap orang tua yang lebih mementingkan nilai kognitif anak daripada nilai afektif. This study aims to identify the process of forming students' character in learning mathematics in elementary schools during and after the (transition) of the Covid-19 pandemic; find math learning strategies that are used in efforts to build student character during and after the (transition) covid-19 pandemic; find out what factors support the implementation of mathematics learning strategies used in efforts to build student character during and after the (transition) covid-19 pandemic; and find factors inhibiting the process of character formation in mathematics learning during and after the (transition) pandemic covid-19. This study uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods. Data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using domain analysis techniques, taxonomic analysis, component analysis and theme analysis. The research subjects consisted of students, mathematics teachers and parents of students at Bedahan 1 Public Elementary School, Pasir Putih 2 Public Elementary School and Holy Faithful Obedient Elementary School. The results showed that the character of students who were formed through learning mathematics online during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially honest, disciplined and responsible characters, were still inefficient due to limited facilities used in online learning such as cellphones (HP) which were used interchangeably with parents, the internet. /network that is less than optimal and teachers are limited in teaching and educating children because they cannot deal directly with students. The process of forming student character in online mathematics learning is carried out through 1) the role of the teacher; 2) The role of parents; and 3) The role of students. The learning strategies used by the teacher include: 1) Habituation to be honest, discipline in the rules and be responsible for the assignments given; 2) exemplary teacher attitude; 3) cooperation with parents in the form of providing understanding to parents and also to students regarding the consequences that will be experienced by children if children behave according to the rules. Factors that support character building strategies in learning mathematics online are: 1) Vision and mission of the school 2) The attitude of the teacher is exemplary and consistent in words and actions; 3) cooperation between teachers and parents in assisting children and parents' understanding of the character that will be instilled in students; and 4) awareness from within students to learn and be responsible for the tasks given by the teacher. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors for the process of character formation in online mathematics learning are; 1) teachers' unpreparedness to teach online; 2) mastery of technology; 3) The attitude of parents who are more concerned with children's cognitive values than affective values.
