Abstract

ABSTRAK Yeremia Andrian. Analisis Pergeseran Musik Liturgi Huria Kristen Batak Protestan (HKBP), Studi kasus: Seksi Musik HKBP Bogor. Skripsi. Jakarta: Program Studi Sosiologi, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial, Universtitas Negeri Jakarta, 2023. Penelitian ini secara garis besar memiliki tujuan untuk menjelaskan pergeseran musik liturgi HKBP Bogor dan konsekuensi dari inovasi musik liturgi dalam meningkatkan jumlah jemaat muda. Penelitian ini juga akan menjelaskan respon gereja HKBP Bogor dalam merespon tumbuhnya persaingan antar gereja melalui perspektif fenomena Megachurch. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan kualitatif, dengan metode studi kasus. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui teknik observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan studi kepustakaan dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 6 (enam) informan, yang terdiri dari empat informan kunci yaitu empat anggota Seksi Musik, satu informan pendukung yaitu penatua gereja, dan satu informan triangulasi data yaitu jemaat muda HKBP Bogor. Lokasi penelitian ini dilakukan di Bogor dan sekitarnya dan waktu penelitian akan dilaksanakan selama kurang lebih enam bulan, dimulai bulan November 2022 hingga Mei 2023. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya pergeseran penyajian dalam musik liturgi yang mengiringi jemaat dalam menyanyikan lagu yang ada. Pergeseran sajian musik yang dimaksud adalah dengan memberikan variasi instrumen musik tambahan seperti, piano, gitar, bass, drum, saxophone, biola, dan memasukkan unsur combo band dalam satu ibadah. Selain itu hasil temuan yang didapat adalah respon gereja melalui Seksi Musik HKBP Bogor di tengah persaingan antar gereja menghadapi fenomena Megachurch yakni memunculkan wacana ibadah alternatif di HKBP Bogor, yang memengaruhi jemaat muda lain untuk hadir ke dalam ibadah maupun pelayanan serta ikut aktif dalam upaya mengembangkan penyajian musik liturgi dalam ibadah minggu. Sehingga hasilnya adalah peningkatan jumlah jemaat muda yang hadir di dalam ibadah, terlebih lagi jemaat muda yang hadir merasakan kesesuaian atau kenyamanan akan penyesuaian musik liturgi yang ada di HKBP. Analysis of Shifts in Liturgical Music of the Protestant Batak Christian Huria (HKBP) Church, Case Study: HKBP Bogor Music Section. Thesis. Jakarta: Sociology Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, 2023. This research, in broad terms, aims to explain the shifts in liturgical music within HKBP Bogor and the consequences of liturgical music innovation in increasing the number of young congregation members. The study also aims to elucidate the response of the HKBP Bogor church in addressing growing inter-church competition through the lens of the Megachurch phenomenon. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a case study method. Data for the study were obtained through techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews, literature review, and documentation. The research subjects consist of 6 (six) informants, including four key informants who are members of the Music Section, one supporting informant who is a church elder, and one informant for triangulating data who is a young member of HKBP Bogor. The research was conducted in Bogor and its surrounding areas and took place over approximately six months, from November 2022 to May 2023. The findings of this research demonstrate shifts in the presentation of liturgical music that accompanies the congregation in singing existing songs. The shifts involve introducing additional musical instruments such as piano, guitar, bass, drums, saxophone, violin, and incorporating elements of a combo band into a worship service. Additionally, the research reveals the response of the church through the HKBP Bogor Music Section in the face of inter-church competition and the Megachurch phenomenon. This response includes the emergence of alternative worship discourse within HKBP Bogor, influencing other young members to attend worship services and become actively involved in efforts to develop the presentation of liturgical music during Sunday worship. As a result, there is an increase in the number of young congregation members attending worship services, particularly those who feel a sense of alignment or comfort with the adaptation of liturgical music within HKBP.
