Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perilaku, dan mendeskripsikan alasan di balik perilaku Self-disclosure pada mahasiswa FIS UNJ angkatan 2019 pengguna media sosial Twitter. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu 10 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa minimnya perilaku self-disclosure yang ditunjukkan oleh mahasiswa FIS UNJ, karena mereka masih memikirkan tentang citra di media sosial yang mengarah pada self-existence. Penggunaan Twitter dipilih karena fiturnya yang memungkinkan pengiriman teks yang cepat dan kemudahan dalam menyaring audiens. Followers yang terdiri dari teman dekat dan orang-orang yang dapat dipercaya. Mahasiswa FIS UNJ menggunakan Twitter untuk meredakan stres dan merasa dihargai saat mendapatkan tanggapan. This research aims to describe the behavior and the reasons behind self-disclosure behavior among 2019 FIS UNJ students who use Twitter social media. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. The subjects of this study were 10 people. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and literature study. The results of this study showed that the lack of self-disclosure behavior shown by FIS UNJ students was due to their concern about their image on social media, which leads to self-existence. Twitter was chosen because of its feature that allows for quick text messaging and ease in filtering audiences. Followers consisted of close friends and trustworthy individuals. FIS UNJ students use Twitter to relieve stress and feel valued when receiving responses.
