Abstract

Terdapat tiga tujuan dalam penelitian ini pertama, mendeskripsikan bagaimana representasi ketidakadilan gender dalam budaya patriarki dalam film “Yuni”, yang kedua untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana analisis semiotika Roland Barthes melihat film “Yuni”, dan yang ketiga untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana feminisme liberal melihat upaya kebebasan perempuan dalam film “Yuni”. Dalam penelitian ini, menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis semiotika Roland Barthes terhadap film “Yuni”. Teknik pengumpul data dengan mengidentifikasi suara, gestur dan gambar pada setiap cuplikan adegan yang menggambarkan ketidakadilan gender dalam patriarki. Setelah seluruh data terkumpul, lalu dianalisis menggunakan model semiotika roland barthes. Melalui tiga tahap analisis yaitu, deskripsi makna denotasi, konotasi dan mitos. Penelitian ini berlangsung dari Agustus 2022 hingga April 2023. Hasil temuan pada penelitian menunjukkan adanya representasi ketidakadilan gender yang ditampilkan dalam film “Yuni”. Dalam film ini terdapat kekerasan verbal yang di representasikan dalam bentuk adegan seperti menghina, meremehkan, dan merendahkan harga diri perempuan. Bentuk representasi dalam film ini dianalisis menggunakan metode semiotika Roland Barthes dengan melihat setiap adegan dalam film yang mempunyai makna ketidakadilan gender seperti, adegan Yuni harus menghadapi realita patriarki di keluarganya, berbagai macam lamaran yang datang pada Yuni membuat masa depannya terancam sehingga menyulitkan dirinya untuk menempuh pendidikan tinggi. Selain itu, feminisme liberal dalam film ini juga nampak saat bagaimana Yuni berani mengambil keputusan atas dirinya untuk menolak lamaran dengan upaya kebebasan diri yang dipilihnya seperti melakukan seks sebelum menikah dengan Yoga dan tidak melanjutkan acara pernikahannya dengan Pak Damar selaku guru bahasa Indonesia di sekolahnya. ***** There are three objectives in this research: first, to describe how the representation of gender inequality in patriarchal culture in the film "Yuni", second, to describe how Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis sees the film "Yuni", and third, to describe how liberal feminism sees women's freedom efforts in the movie "Yuni". In this study, using a qualitative approach with Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis method of the film "Yuni". Data collection techniques by identifying sounds, gestures and images in each scene that depicts gender inequality in patriarchy. After all the data is collected, then analyzed using Roland Barthes's semiotic model. Through three stages of analysis, namely, the description of the meaning of denotation, connotation and myth. This research took place from August 2022 to April 2023. The findings of the research show that there is a representation of gender inequality shown in the film "Yuni". In this film there is verbal violence represented in the form of scenes such as insulting, belittling, and demeaning women's self-esteem. The form of representation in this film is analyzed using Roland Barthes' semiotic method by looking at every scene in the film that has a meaning of gender injustice, such as the scene where Yuni has to face the patriarchal reality of her family, the various proposals that come to Yuni threaten her future, making it difficult for her to pursue education. tall. Apart from that, liberal feminism in this film can also be seen when Yuni dared to make a decision for herself to refuse an application in her chosen way of freedom, such as having sex before marriage with Yoga and not continuing her marriage to Pak Damar as the Indonesian language teacher at her school.
