Abstract

Masalah yang melatarbelakangi penelitian ini adalah rendahnya tingkat kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan menggunakan model problem based learning. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran PPKn melalui model problem based learning di kelas VA siswa SD Sekar Adi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VA SD Sekar Adi yang berjumlah 20 siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan model siklus Kemmis dan Mc. Tagart dengan tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan rekleksi. Pada siklus I, hasil tes kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa menunjukan presentase sebesar 65% sehingga diperlukan siklus berikutnya. Pada siklus II presentase hasil tes kemampuan berpikir kritis sebesar 90%. Selanjutnya, hasil pemantau tindakan guru pada siklus I sebesar 78% mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II sebesar 93%. Sedangkan, hasil pemantau tindakan siswa pada siklus I sebesar 77% mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II sebesar 94%. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa model problem based learning mampu digunakan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VA SD Sekar Adi khususnya dalam pembelajaran PPKn.*****The problem behind this research is the low level of students' critical thinking skills. One way to improve students' critical thinking skills is by using a problem-based learning model. The purpose of the study was to improve critical thinking skills in Civics learning through a problem-based learning model in class VA students of SD Sekar Adi. The subjects of this study were the VA class students of SD Sekar Adi, totaling 20 students. This research was conducted using the method of classroom action research (PTK) with the Kemmis and Mc. Tagart cycle model with the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and recollection. In cycle I, the test results of students' critical thinking skills showed a percentage of 65% so that the next cycle was needed. In cycle II, the percentage of critical thinking skills test results was 90%. Furthermore, the results of monitoring teacher actions in cycle I amounted to 78% which increased in cycle II by 93%. Meanwhile, the results of monitoring student actions in cycle I of 77% increased in cycle II by 94%. The implication of this research is that the problem-based learning model can be used to improve the critical thinking skills of students in class VA Sekar Adi Elementary School, especially in Civics learning.
