Abstract

***** This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the search, solve, create, and share learning model towards the ability to understand mathematical concepts of the students at 15 Junior High School South Tangerang. The research method used was a quasi-experimental method. Moreover, the sampling technique used was purposive sampling and cluster random samping in order to determine the experimental class and the control class. The class has met the requirements of normality and homogeneity; besides, it has the same average. The research instrument used was the result of the students ability to understand mathematical concepts on the material of geometry flat faces. The test instrument is in the form of description of six questions which have been tested for validity and reliability. The hypothesis testing is conducted by using t-test. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, the value of t_count=3,95>t_table=1,666, thus reject H_0 at the significance level α=0,05. It shows that there is influence of the search, solve, create, and share learning model on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students at 15 Junior High School South Tangerang. Based on calculation of the magnitude of the effect obtained d=0,912, with a percentage of 82% which is considered as the large category.
