Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan contextual teaching and learning terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode quasi-experiment dengan desain post-test only control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 1 dan XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 54 Jakarta. Kemampuan koneksi matematis diukur menggunakan instrumen tes yaitu 5 soal uraian pada materi integral yang telah teruji valid dan reliabel. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t dengan taraf signifikansi α=0,05, didapat bahwa nilai t_hitung=2,507≥t_tabel=1,688, maka tolak H_0 yang berarti rata-rata kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang menerapkan pendekatan CTL lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa yang menerapkan pembelajaran konvensional. Kemudian diperoleh nilai Cohen’s effect size yang diperoleh adalah 0,591 yang termasuk pada kategori sedang dengan persentase 73%. Berdasarkan hasil yang telah didapatkan, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh dari penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran contextual teaching and learning terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa SMA Negeri 54 Jakarta. ***** This study aims to find out the effect of contextual teaching and learning approach on students’ mathematical connection ability. The method used is quasi-experiment method with post-test only control group design. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling technique. The samples in this study were students of class XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 54 Jakarta. The ability to understand mathematical connection is measured using a test instrument, that included 5 description questions on integral material that has been tested valid and reliable. The results of hypothesis testing using t-test with a significance level of α=0,05, obtained that t_value=2,5077≥ t_table=1,688, then H_0 is rejected which means that the average mathematical connection ability of students who apply the CTL approach is higher than student who apply conventional learning. Then the value of Cohen’s effect size obtained is 0,591 which is included in the medium category with a percentage of 73%. Based on the results that have been obtained, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the application of contextual teaching and learning approach on the ability to mathematical connection of SMA Negeri 54 Jakarta students.
