Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan bahan ajar membaca puisi bagi mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia FKIP Uniku untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca puisi mahasiswa. Pengembangan ini dilakukan karena rendahnya kemampuan membaca puisi pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia FKIP Universitas Kuningan. Penyebab rendahnya kemampuan membaca puisi karena kurangnya bahan ajar yang kontekstual. Penelitian pengembangan ini dilakukan di Universitas Kuningan Jawa Barat, yaitu di Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia. Model Pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Model Jolly dan Bolitho yang terdiri dari tahap identifikasi kebutuhan, eksplorasi kebutuhan, realisasi kontekstual, realisasi pedagosis, produksi fisik, uji coba, dan evaluasi produk. Berdasarkan survey pendahuluan, observasi, wawancara, angket, dan studi literatur, maka dikembangkan bahan ajar membaca puisi yang terdiri dari 5 bab. Bab 1 berisi materi apresiasi puisi, bab 2 berisi materi membaca puisi, bab 3 berisi materi persiapan membaca puisi, bab 4 berisi materi latihan dasar membaca puisi, bab 5 berisi materi penilaian membaca puisi. Hal yang membedakan bahan ajar membaca puisi yang dikembangkan dengan bahan ajar membaca puisi sebelumnya adalah bahwa bahan ajar yang dikembangkan ini mengacu pada hal yang kontekstual seperti pemilihan puisi yang sesuai dengan karakteristik lingkungan, isi didasarkan pada wawancara narasumber/ahli, detail bahan ajar dari persiapan sampai penilaian, serta dilengkapi video. Berdasarkan uji kelayakan baik teoretis maupun empiris, bahan ajar ini dinyatakan layak. Untuk uji teoretis ada 4 pakar yang memberikan penilaian yakni pakar bahan ajar, pakar apresiasi puisi, pakar pendekatan kontekstual, serta pakar bahasa. Sementara itu, uji empiris terdiri dari uji one to one, uji kelompok kecil, dan uji kelompok besar. Berdasarkan uji efektivitas, bahan ajar yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini dinyatakan efektif untuk diimplementasikan. Kata kunci: bahan ajar, pendekatan kontekstual, membaca puisi, mahasiswa A CONTEXTUAL-BASED LEARNING MATERIAL OF POETRY READING FOR INDONESIAN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE EDUCATION STUDENTS Arip Hidayat Applied Linguistics ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was develop teaching materials poetry reading for students of Indonesian Language and Literature Education FKIP Uniku to improve students' poetry reading skills. This development was carried out due to the low ability to poetry reading in Indonesian Language and Literature Education students at the Kuningan University. The cause of the low ability to poetry reading is due to the lack of contextual teaching materials. This development research was conducted at Kuningan University, West Java, namely in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program. This development research conducted in Kuningan University, West Jawa, at Indonesian Language and Literature Education. The development models that use in this research is Jolly and Bolitho models that consists of needs identification stage, needs exploration, contextual realization, pedagogical realization, physical production, trials, and product evaluation. Based on preliminary survey, observation, interview, questionnaire, and literature study, so developed teaching materials in poetry appreciation (reading a poetry) that consists of 5 chapters. Chapter 1 contains poetry appreciation material, chapter 2 contains poetry reading material, chapter 3 contains poetry reading preparation material, chapter 4 contains poetry reading basic exercises, chapter 5 contains poetry reading assessment material. The thing that distinguishes the poetry appreciation teaching materials that were developed from the previous poetry appreciation teaching materials is that the developed teaching materials refer to contextual matters such as the selection of poetry according to environmental characteristics, the content is based on interviews with sources/experts, the details of the teaching materials from preparation to assessment, as well as video. Based on feasibility tests both theoretical and empirical, this teaching materials declared eligible. For the theoretical test there are 4 experts who provide an assessment, there are experts of teaching materials, experts of poetry appreciation, experts of contextual approach, and experts of language. Meanwhile, empirical tests consist of one to one test, little group test, and big group test. Based on effectiveness test, this teaching materials that we developed in this research declared effective to implemented. Keywords: teaching materials, contextual approach, poetry reading, students
