Abstract

Tunagrahita sedang merupakan individu yang mengalami hambatan ranah adaptif, untuk itu perlu diberikan keterampilan bina diri termasuk keterampilan menggunakan pakaian berkancing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menggunakan pakaian berkancing pada siswa tunagrahita sedang kelas VI dengan metode backward chaining di SLB C Dian Kusuma Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan model penelitian Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Penelitian dilakukan dalam 2 siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari 8 kali pertemuan dengan tahapan yang terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan dan pengamatan, dan refleksi . Analisa data yang digunakan adalah analisa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kemampuan awal siswa 37,5. Setelah diberi tindakan siklus I memperoleh nilai 50 dan di akhir siklus II memperoleh nilai 70,5, sehingga peningkatan yang diperoleh siswa dari kemampuan awal hingga siklus II adalah 33. Berdasarkan data tersebut maka dinyatakan bahwa metode bakward chaining dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menggunakan pakaian berkancing pada siswa tunagrahita sedang kelas VI di SLB C Dian Kusuma Jakarta. Melalui metode backward chaining siswa merasa senang dan mudah memahami dalam mengerjakan keterampilan bina diri yang menjadikan siswa percaya diri saat menggunakan pakaian berkancing. ***** Moderate mentally retarded students are students who experience developmental barriers, one of which is the development of the adaptive realm, for this reason, it is necessary to be given self-development skills, including skills in using buttoned clothes. This study aims to improve the skills of buttoning clothes on mentally retarded students in sixth grade using the backward chaining method at SLB C Dian Kusuma Jakarta. This study used the Classroom Action Research method with the Kemmis and Mc Taggart research models. The research was conducted in 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of 8 meetings with stages consisting of planning, action and observation, and reflection. The data analysis used is qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results showed that the students' initial ability was 37.5. After being given the action cycle I obtained a score of 50 and at the end of cycle II obtained a value of 70.5, so that the increase obtained by students from initial ability to cycle II was 33. Based on these data was stated that the Backward chaining method could improve students' skills in buttoning clothes mentally retardation in sixth grade at SLB C Dian Kusuma Jakarta. Through the backward chaining method students feel happy and easy to understand in working on self-development skills which make students confident when wearing buttoned clothes.
