Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran orang tua dalam mendampingi anak dengan hambatan intelektual belajar pasca pandemi covid-19. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan deskripsi kualitatif metode Miles and Huberman dengan beberapa tahapan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, lalu penarikan kesimpulan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Dari hasil analisis di SLB Negeri 11 Jakarta, anak dengan hambatan intelektual di kelas II C terdapat beberapa anak yang mampu mengikuti kegiatan belajar mengajar tatap muka dan ada beberapa anak yang masih memerlukan bimbingan. Anak dengan hambatan Intelektual memerlukan dukungan atau motivasi dari keluarga terdekat dalam kegiatan belajar. Peran Orang tua sangat berpengaruh dalam menunjang kegiatan belajar anak dengan hambatan intelektual. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh di lapangan, bahwa orang tua tetap menjalankan peran sebagai orang tua dalam memberikan pendampingan, pengawasan dan motivator kepada anak berkebutuhan khusus selama pembelajaran jarak jauh. Pendampingan yang diberikan oleh orang tua tidak semua sama, mereka memberikan pendampingan yang mereka anggap sesuai dengan kebutuhan anak ketika di rumah. Kesimpulan penelitian ini, bahwa peran orang tua dalam kegiatan pendampingan pembelajaran, yaitu Orang tua memberikan pengertian kepada anak, orang tua lebih terbuka untuk mendengarkan keluhan anak selama anak mengalami kesulitan dalam belajar, orang tua menyediakan fasilitas belajar, orang tua memberikan pengawasan secara langsung, orang tua memberikan waktu dan ruang yang tepat untuk belajar anak sangat besar pengaruhnya terhadap proses belajar anak. Orang tua dapat memberikan kebebasan atau tuntutan yang membebani anak dalam area akademik dan orang tua menjadi memahami kemampuan anak dalam belajar. ***** This experiment wa intended to find the role of parents in assisting children with intellectual learning disabilities after the Covid-19 pandemic. This research method uses a qualitative description of the Miles and Huberman method with several stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, then conclusion drawing. Data collection is done by observation, interviews, and documentation. From the results of the analysis at SLB Negeri 11 Jakarta, children with intellectual disabilities in class II C there are several children who are able to participate in face-to-face teaching and learning activities and there are several children who still need guidance. Children with intellectual barriers need support or motivation from the closest family in learning activities. The role of parents is very influential in supporting the learning activities of children with intellectual disabilities. Based on the research results obtained in the field, that parents still carry out their role as parents in providing assistance, supervision and motivators to children with special needs during distance learning. The assistance provided by parents is not all the same, they provide assistance that they consider appropriate to the needs of the child when at home. The conclusion of this study is that the role of parents in learning assistance activities, namely parents provide understanding to children, parents are more open to listening to children's complaints as long as children experience difficulties in learning, parents provide learning facilities, parents provide direct supervision, parents provide the right time and space for children's learning is very big influence on the child's learning process. Parents can provide freedom or demands that burden children in the academic area and parents understand children's ability to learn.
