Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami citra perempuan ningrat yang terdapat dalam novel Panggil Aku Kartini Saja karya Pramoedya Ananta Toer dan Segala yang Diisap Langit karya Pinto Anugerah dengan menggunakan kajian Simbolik Roland Barthes. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu metode deskripsi dan riset kepustakaan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif analitik. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan adalah: 1) terdapat 60 leksia yang ditemukan di novel Panggil Aku Kartini Saja karya Pramoedya Ananta Noer yang tersebar ke tiga macam kajian simbolik Roland Barthes berupa 45 leksia antitesis, 12 leksia kemenduan, dan 3 leksia pertentangan dua unsur. Keseluruhan leksia memberi gambaran bahwa Kartini adalah seorang perempuan ningrat yang memiliki citra: memegang teguh agama yang dianut, menyayangi ayahnya, berjuang untuk kepentingan rakyat dengan cara menulis dan mendirikan sekolah khusus perempuan, produk pergesesan budaya timur dan barat, suka membaca, dan sebagainya. 2) Terdapat 32 leksia pada novel Segala yang Diisap Langit karya Pinto Anugerah. Leksia-leksia tersebut tersebar ke tiga macam kajian simbolik Roland Barthes berupa kemenduaan, antitesis, dan pertentangan dua unsur. Ada 7 leksia kemenduaan, 20 leksia antitesis, dan 5 leksia pertentangan dua unsur. Keseluruhan leksia memberi gambaran bahwa Bungo Rabiah adalah seorang perempuan ningrat yang memiliki citra bangga terhadap garis keturunan, mau memperjuangkan cita-citanya, menyayangi anak-anaknya, dan tegar. Novel Panggil Aku Kartini Saja layak dijadikan suplemen pembelajaran sastra di SMA sementara novel Segala yang Diisap Langit layak dijadikan suplemen pembelajaran sastra di perguruan tinggi. Abstract This study aims to understand the image of aristocratic women in the novels Call Me Kartini Only by Pramoedya Ananta Toer and Everything That Is Sucked by the Sky by Pinto Anugerah by using Roland Barthes' Symbolic study. Researchers used a qualitative descriptive research method. Data collection techniques used in this study are description methods and library research. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive analytic. The results of the research that have been carried out are: 1) there are 60 lexia found in the novel Just Call Me Kartini by Pramoedya Ananta Noer which are spread over three kinds of Roland Barthes' symbolic studies in the form of 45 antithetical lexia, 12 ambiguous lexia, and 3 two-element conflict lexia. The entire lexia depicts that Kartini is an aristocratic woman who has the image of: holding fast to her religion, loving her father, fighting for the interests of the people by writing and establishing an all-girls school, a product of cultural shifts between East and West, likes to read, and so on. 2) There are 32 lexia in the novel Everything Sucked by the Sky by Pinto Anugerah. These lexias cover three kinds of symbolic studies by Roland Barthes in the form of ambiguity, antithesis, and the conflict of two elements. There are 7 lexias of ambiguity, 20 lexias of antithesis, and 5 lexias of conflict of two elements. The entire lexia illustrates that Bungo Rabiah is an aristocratic woman who has a proud image of her lineage, is willing to fight for her ideals, loves her children, and is strong. The novel Just Call Me Kartini deserves to be used as a supplement to learning literature in high school while the novel Everything that is Sucked by the Sky is suitable to be used as a supplement to learning literature in universities.
