Abstract

Penelitian korelasi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara minat baca dengan hasil belajar dalam pembelajaran IPS pada siswa kelas VI SD di Kelurahan Sunter Agung, Tanjung Priok, Jakarta Utara. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama dua bulan terhitung sejak bulan Juli sampai dengan Agustus 2023. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 64 orang yang merupakan siswa kelas VI di SDN Kelurahan Sunter Agung. Pengumpulan sampel menggunakan teknik Purposive Sampling dengan model penelitian sederhana hubungan X dan Y. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan dua instrumen, yaitu non tes berupa angket untuk mengukur variabel minat baca dan instrumen tes berupa tes objektif bentuk pilihan ganda untuk mengukur hasil belajar IPS. Data tersebut dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi product moment dan uji-t. Berdasarkan perhitungan uji korelasi product moment diperoleh nilai rhitung (0,443) > rtabel (0,361) dan uji-t memperoleh hasil thitung (3,894) > ttabel (1,669). Kedua hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak, sehingga dapat disimpulkan terdapat hubungan yang positif antara minat baca dan hasil belajar IPS dengan derajat korelasi sedang. Kemudian berdasarkan hasil perhitungan koefisien determinasi diperoleh persentase sebesar 19,7% sumbangan variabel X Minat Baca terhadap variabel Y Hasil Belajar IPS, dan sisanya sebesar 80,3% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diujikan dalam penelitian ini. ***** This correlational study aims to determine the relation between reading interest and learning outcomes in social studies learning for sixth grade elementary school students in Sunter Agung Urban Village, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. This research was ruled for two months from July to August 2023. The sample in this study was 64 sixth grade elementary school students at SDN Sunter Agung. The data collection used is a purposive sampling technique with a simple research model of X and Y correlation. Data collection was carried out using two instruments which were a non-test in the form of a questionnaire to measure reading interest and a test instrument in the form of a multiple-choice objective test to measure social studies learning outcomes. The data were analyzed using a product moment correlation test and t-test. Based on the calculation of the product moment correlation test, the r-count (0.443) > r-table (0,361) and the t-test result is t-count (3.894) > t-table (1.669). Both of these results indicate that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, so it can be interpreted that there is a positive relationship between reading interest and social studies learning outcomes with a moderate degree of correlation. Then, based on the results of the calculation of the coefficient of determination, it was obtained a proportion of 19.7% of the contribution of the X variable Interest in reading to the Y variable Social Studies Learning Outcomes, and the remaining 80.3% was influenced by other factors not tested in this study.
