Abstract

Sebagai calon pendidik diharapkan mampu membantu meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan banyaknya tanggung jawab yang dilakukan oleh calon pendidik membuat beberapa mahasiswa kependidikan tidak memiliki keinginan untuk menjalankan profesi menjadi seorang pendidik dikarenakan ketidakpercayaan terhadap kemampuan dirinya sendiri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai gambaran Psychological Capital pada mahasiswa aktif di Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Negeri Jakarta yang telah melaksanakan mata kuliah Praktek Kegiatan Mengajar atau Praktek Pengalaman Lapangan, untuk mengetahui tingkat Hope, Optimism, Resilience, dan Efficacy sesuai dengan teori Psychological Capital yang dikembangkan oleh Luthans dkk (2007) pada diri mahasiswa untuk persiapan jenjang karirnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif yang menggunakan instrumen kuesioner Psychological Capital Questionnaire yang telah dimodifikasi oleh Hazan Batel Liran dan Paul Miller (2017) sebanyak 24 item. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan jenis teknik quota sampling sehingga mendapatkan partisipan sebanyak 309 mahasiswa dari tujuh program studi di Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat 56 responden (18%) berada pada kategori tinggi, 208 responden (67%) berada pada kategori sedang, dan 45 responden (15%) berada pada kategori rendah. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa aktif di Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan angkatan 2017-2019 berada pada kategori sedang, yang menunjukan bahwa mahasiswa bersikap selalu melihat dan meyakini ada sisi positif dibalik kesulitan yang berikaitan dengan perkuliahannya. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka mahasiswa dapat meningkatkan kesadaran diri tentang psychological capital sehingga mahasiswa mampu mempersiapkan aspek hope, optimism, resilience, dan efficacy untuk menunjang dalam persiapan karir. ***** As aspiring educators, the ability to enhance the quality of learning and the multitude of responsibilities undertaken by prospective educators have led some educational students to lack the aspiration to pursue a profession in teaching due to self-doubt in their own capabilities. The purpose of this study is to acquire insights into the profile of Psychological Capital among actively enrolled students at the Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, who have completed the courses of Teaching Practice or Field Experience. This aims to assess the levels of Hope, Optimism, Resilience, and Efficacy, in accordance with the Psychological Capital theory developed by Luthans et al. (2007), within the students as they prepare for their career advancement. Employing a quantitative approach with a descriptive method, this research utilizes the modified version of the Psychological Capital Questionnaire consisting of 24 items, as devised by Hazan Batel Liran and Paul Miller (2017). The sampling technique adopted is quota sampling, resulting in the participation of 309 students from seven academic programs within the Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The findings indicate that 56 respondents (18%) fall into the high category, 208 respondents (67%) into the moderate category, and 45 respondents (15%) into the low category. This demonstrates that students consistently perceive and believe in the presence of positive aspects behind the challenges associated with their academic pursuits. This indicates that students actively enrolled in the Faculty of Education, batch 2017-2019, fall within the moderate category. This suggests that students consistently exhibit a disposition to perceive and believe in the presence of positive aspects amid the challenges associated with their academic coursework. Based on this observation, students can enhance their self-awareness regarding psychological capital, enabling them to cultivate attributes such as hope, optimism, resilience, and efficacy to support their career readiness preparations.
