Abstract

ABSTRACT SITTI JAMILATULFADHYLAH. 2023. Timing Patterns and Use of Myth in a Collection of Short Stories of Cerita Horor Kota: A Narratological Study. Thesis. Jakarta. Indonesian Literature Study Program. Faculty of Language and Art. State University of Jakarta. This research aims to determine the timing pattern and variety of ghosts in horror myths in the short story collection Cerita Horor Kota by eleven winners of the 2013 Cerita Horor Kota competition. This research was conducted from November 2019 to August 2023. The theory used by Rimmon-Kenan narratology is three aspects of timing is order, frequency, and tempo. The methodology used is descriptive qualitative. Based on the order, analepsis and prolepsis were found. Based on frequency, singulative, repetitive and iterative are found. In the tempo aspect, there are accelerations, decelerations, stops, omissions and scenes. The results of the research show that in the short story collection Cerita Horor Kota there are various short stories that do not match chronologically. The most dominant setting in the short story collection Cerita Horor Kota is Kalimantan. The most dominant type of ghost in the short story collection Cerita Horor Kota is a ghost like a kuyang that consumes the victim's life. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola pewaktuan dan ragam hantu dalam mitos horor pada kumpulan cerpen Cerita Horor Kota karya sebelas pemenang lomba Cerita Horor Kota tahun 2013. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sejak November 2019 hingga Agustus 2023. Teori yang digunakan naratologi Rimmon-Kenan dengan tiga aspek pewaktuan berupa urutan, kekerapan, dan tempo. Metodologi yang digunakan ialah deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan urutan, ditemukan analepsis dan prolepsis. Berdasarkan kekerapan ditemukan singulatif, repetitif, dan iteratif. Dalam aspek tempo ditemukan pemercepatan, pemerlambatan, penghentian, penghilangan, dan pengadeganan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di dalam kumpulan cerpen Cerita Horor Kota terdapat berbagai cerpen yang tidak sesuai dengan kronologis. Latar tempat paling dominan dalam kumpulan cerpen Cerita Horor Kota adalah Kalimantan. Ragam hantu yang paling dominan dalam kumpulan cerpen Cerita Horor Kota ialah hantu sejenis kuyang yang menghabiskan nyawa korban. Kata Kunci: cerita pendek, horor, mitos, naratologi, pewaktuan.
