Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami secara komprehensif tentang penglolaan humas dalam membangun citra kampus. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Institut Agama Islam Yasni Muara Bungo. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analisis. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, partisipasi dengan menggunakan teknik wawancara, studi dokumen, dan pencatatan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah, pertama dalam mengelola hubungan dengan masyarakat dimulai dari perumusan perencanaan, pengorganisasian, tindakan, pengawasan, dan evaluasi. Kedua, dalam tahap implementasi hubungan dengan masyarakat, humas IAI Yasni melalukan riset penemuan fakta, dalam hal ini humas melakukan analisis lingkungan internal seperti analisis kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang, serta ancaman guna mencari data bagaimana kondisi internal kampus agar berhasil dalam mengelola humas. Melakukan analisis terhadap lingkungan eksternal, seperti riset kompetitor, analisis karakter, budaya, sosial, dan ekonomi masyarakat, selanjutnya menetapkan visi dan misi, merumuskan program kerja, menjalin komunikasi, menciptakan rasa saling pengertian, melakukan kerjasama. Ketiga, faktor pendukung dan penghambat, perguruan tinggi akan terancam mengalami kegagalan jika tidak bisa memprediksikan masa depan global (opportunity share), untuk itu perlu menciptakan rasa semangat dalam bersaing, memanfaatkan kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi, sarana dan prasarana yang lengkap, tenaga pendidik dan kependidikan yang handal dan berkualitas, serta melakukan pemberdayaan terhadap alumni. Adapun faktor yang dapat menjadi penghambat adalah, minimnya anggaran, efektivitas kinerja yang menurun, rangkap jabatan, dan lemahnya sumberdaya manusia humas dalam mengelola media. Tujuan akhir dari penelitian ini mengarah pada rekomendasi, antara humas dan bidang lain harus memiliki sinergitas yang kuat, melakukan fungsi komunikasi dengan baik untuk menciptakan opini publik, membuat jadwal untuk mengadakan rapat rutin bidang humas agar pelaksanaan hubungan dengan masyarakat dapat tercipta sesuai dengan program kerja dan visi misi yang telah dirumuskan. Kata kunci: Citra Pendidikan, Komunikasi,, Pengelolaan Humas ABSTRACK The purpose of this research is to understand comprehensively about public relations management in creating the campus image. This research was carried out at the Yasni Muara Bungo Islamic Institute. This research is qualitative research with descriptive analysis methods. Data collection was carried out through observation, participation using interview techniques, document analysis and recording. The results of this research are; First, in managing the public relations with the community starts from formulating the planning, organizing, acting, monitoring and evaluating. Second, in the implementation stage of the relations with the community, IAI Yasni's public relations conducted fact-finding research, in this case the public relations carried out an analysis of the internal environment such as an analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to find the data about how internal conditions of the campus in order to be successful in managing the public relations. Carry out the analysis of external environment, such as competitor research, character, cultural, social and economic analysis of the community, then determine the vision and mission, formulate the work programs, establish communication, create a sense of mutual understanding, collaborate. Third, supporting and inhibiting factors, universities will be threatened with failure if they cannot predict the global future (opportunity share), for this reason they need to create a sense of enthusiasm for competition, take advantage of advances in science and technology, complete facilities and infrastructure, teaching and educational staff. Reliable and high quality, as well as empowering the alumni. The factors that can become obstacles are minimal budget, decreased performance effectiveness, multiple positions, and the weakness of public relations of human resources in managing the media. The final objective of this research leads to recommendations, that between public relations and other fields must have strong synergy, carry out communication functions well to create public opinion, create a schedule for holding regular meetings in the public relations sector so that the implementation of relations with the public can be created in accordance with the work program and formulated vision and mission.
