Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana perbandingan hasil belajar kognitif antara siswa yang diberi soal evaluasi bentuk pilihan ganda dengan siswa yang diberi soal evaluasi bentuk uraian pada materi litosfer siswa. Pengambilan data dilaksanakan selama lima minggu, pada bulan Januari hingga Februari 2023, dengan jumlah 36 siswa untuk kelompok pilihan ganda (X1) dan 35 siswa untuk kelompok uraian (X2). Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes formatif materi litosfer bentuk uraian sebanyak 8 soal dan pilihan ganda sebanyak 35 soal, dimana sampel dipilih dengan teknik acak (random sampling). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu eksperimen sebenarnya (true experimental), dengan desain penelitian pretest-posttest control group design. Berdasarkan perhitungan uji hipotesis dengan Uji “t” (t-Test: Two-Sample Assuming Equal Variances), pada taraf signifikansi 0,05 diperoleh hasil t hitung > t tabel, yaitu 1,729 > 1,6672. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, yaitu terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang diberi soal evaluasi bentuk pilihan ganda dengan soal evaluasi bentuk uraian, sebesar 3,08. Berdasarkan hasil analisis penelitian, ditemukan bahwa soal pilihan ganda sesuai untuk digunakan dalam mengukur level kognitif rendah, sedangkan soal uraian sesuai untuk digunakan dalam mengukur level kognitif yang lebih tinggi. Serta terdapat beberapa kelebihan dan kekurangan pada penerapan masing-masing bentuk soal evaluasi saat diterapkan di SMAN 61 Jakarta. Kelebihan soal pilihan ganda yaitu peneliti dapat mengkaji jangkauan materi litosfer dengan cakupan yang lebih luas dan bervariasi, serta bentuk soal yang lebih familiar di kalangan siswa. Kelebihan soal uraian yaitu siswa lebih leluasa menuangkan isi pikiran dan melakukan eksplorasi dalam memilih jawaban soal sesuai dengan pikiran mereka, dan penyusunan soal mudah. Sementara itu, kekurangan soal pilihanganda terdapat pada chance of guessing, sehingga kurang akurat dalam mengukur kemampuan siswa. Dan kekurangan soal uraian yaitu rentan terhadap penilaian subjektif, dan sukar dalam penskoran. This study aims to determine how the comparison of cognitive learning outcomes between students who are given multiple choice evaluation questions with students who are given evaluation questions in the form of descriptions on student lithosphere material. Data collection was carried out for five weeks, from January to February 2023, with a total of 36 students for the multiple choice group (X1) and 35 students for the description group (X2). The instrument used was a formative test of lithosphere material in the form of descriptions of 8 questions and multiple choice of 35 questions, where the sample was selected using random sampling technique. The method used in this research is true experimental, with a pretest-posttest control group design. Based on the calculation of hypothesis testing with the "t" test (t-Test: Two-Sample Assuming Equal Variances), at a significance level of 0.05, the results obtained t count > t table, namely 1.729 > 1.6672. It can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, namely there is a difference in learning outcomes between students who are given multiple choice evaluation questions and evaluation questions in the form of descriptions, amounting to 3.08. Based on the results of the research analysis, it was found that multiple choice questions are suitable for use in measuring low cognitive levels, while description questions are suitable for use in measuring higher cognitive levels. And there are some advantages and disadvantages in the application of each form of evaluation questions when applied at SMAN 61 Jakarta. The advantages of multiple choice questions are that researchers can examine the range of lithosphere material with a wider and varied scope, and the form of questions that are more familiar to students.The advantages of description questions are that students are more free to express their thoughts and explore in choosing answers to questions according to their thoughts, and the preparation of questions is easy.Meanwhile, the disadvantage of multiple-choice questions is the chance of guessing, so it is less accurate in measuring students' abilities.And the shortcomings of description questions are susceptible to subjective judgment, and difficult in scoring.
