Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tiga tujuan utama. Pertama, bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gambaran umum fenomena perempuan perokok. Kedua, mendeskripsikan pandangan generasi X, Y, Z terhadap perempuan perokok. Ketiga, mendeskripsikan gambaran analisis konstruksi sosial terhadap perempuan perokok. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan kualitatif, dengan metode studi kasus. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah sebanyak sembilan informan kunci yaitu masyarakat generasi X, Y, dan Z. Kemudian, terdapat tiga wanita perokok di Jakarta Timur sebagai informan pendukung, serta satu akademisi yang berfokus pada kajian kebudayaan masyarakat sebagai triangulasi data. Lokasi penelitian ini dilakukan di Kampung Setu RT 004 dan RT 005, Bintara Jaya, Bekasi Barat. Penelitian ini dimulai sejak bulan Desember 2021 sampai Juni 2022. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya proses konstruksi sosial yang berbeda dari setiap generasi berdasarkan pengalaman dan pengetahuan yang telah didapatkan. Perbedaan makna ini muncul karena adanya sesuatu yang diartikan individu melalui pikiran berdasarkan apa yang ia lihat melalui interaksi sosial yang berbentuk pengalaman dan juga simbol-simbol. Beberapa generasi X, Y, dan Z mengkonstruksi fenomena perempuan perokok sebagai sesuatu hal yang tabu dan tidak lazim karena masyarakat pada konstruksi sosial pertama di penelitian ini masih memegang teguh keyakinan yang dimiliki walaupun sudah ada perubahan budaya. Lalu, selebihnya, generasi X, Y, dan Z mengkonstruksi fenomena perokok perempuan sebagai sesuatu kegiatan yang wajar jika dilakukan oleh perempuan, kegiatan merokok tersebut wajar dilakukan bila perempuan merokok di tempat tertutup dan perempuan perokok yang tidak memakai hijab. Selanjutnya, terdapat salah satu informan dari generasi Z yang memang sudah mewajarkan perempuan perokok sepenuhnya terlepas dari apapun situasi serta kondisi perempuan perokok tersebut. This research has three main objectives. First, it aims to describe the general picture of the phenomenon of female smokers. Second, describe the views of generations X, Y, Z towards women who smoke. Third, describe the analysis of the social construction of women smokers. *** The methodology used in this research is a qualitative approach, with a case study method. Research data was obtained through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The subjects of this research were nine key informants, namely people from generations X, Y, and Z. Then, there were three female smokers in East Jakarta as supporting informants, as well as one academic who focused on studying community culture as data triangulation. The location of this research was in Kampung Setu RT 004 and RT 005, Bintara Jaya, West Bekasi. This research started from December 2021 to June 2022. The results of this research show that there is a different social construction process for each generation based on the experience and knowledge they have gained. This difference in meaning arises because there is something that the individual interprets through the mind based on what he sees through social interactions in the form of experiences and also symbols. Several generations X, Y, and Z construct the phenomenon of women smoking as something that is taboo and unusual because the people in the first social construction in this research still hold firmly to their beliefs even though there have been cultural changes. Then, for the rest, generations Furthermore, there is one informant from generation Z who has made it completely normal for women to smoke, regardless of the situation and condition of the women who smoke.
