Abstract

******** This study aims to determined the effect of using the peer instruction type flipped classroom model on student communication skills of 4th grade primary school. This research used a quantitative experimental method with a Posttest-Only Control Design research design. The sample in this study were all 4th grade students at the Kramat Pela 07 South of Jakarta Public Primary School. The technique of getting the sample was simple random sampling technique from the specified population, namely public primary schools in Kebayoran Baru District. There were two study groups, class VI-A was selected as the experimental class and class VI-B as the control class. The experimental class used the peer instruction type flipped classroom model and the control class used the expository model. Data were collected used a observation and test instrument in the form of description questions. The percentage results oral communication skills observation in the experimental class were 90% (very good), and the control class was 82% (very good). Hypothesis testing using t-test with independent sample t-test formula. The results of the hypothesis test obtained the value of tcount (4,64) > ttable (1,68). This showed that the peer instruction type flipped classroom model has an influence on the student communication skills of 4th grade primary school.
